Manchester United 2-1 Marseille

And we're through to the last 8!!

[Chicharito with two goals for the night]
I've always hated the away goals rule. I've always preferred going away first and then coming home for the second leg, but it's always nerve-wracking going home after a 0-0 draw. Well Chicharito's two goals proved crucial as Marseille clawed one back in the last 10 minutes. It was yet one of those games where it got really nervy at the end. If we concede, it's over for us. These types of games, I hate watching live because I get too nervous, but it makes you feel that much better when it's over and you're through.

Ryan Giggs didn't have the best of games but even then he was influential in both goals. Paul Scholes amazed me yet again with his cutting passes. And Wayne Rooney, boy! He's back in a different way. It was like we had two Scholes out there! His passing was just incredible throughout the game. Looking forward to this Saturday's game against Bolton. We really need to get back on track on our Premier League run.

Chicharito and Rooney seem to be working really well, but I sure hope that Dimitar Berbatov gets a start soon. I don't want him to lose his confidence or be unhappy at the club. I don't want him to go.

Losing both John O'Shea and Rafael through hamstring injuries sure does suck! Isn't it ironic that the previous game we started with 7 defenders and now we don't even have a decent back four? Heard Vidic's injury wasn't bad and that he'd be back for the next game (would have had to be out for 3 weeks if he played Marseille) and Rio is coming back soon, too!

In other United news, Sir Alex Ferguson has been handed a 5 game touchline ban, starting after this weekend's match, plus £30,000 fine for his comments after the loss against Chelsea. I always hate it when this happens but we're still United with or without him at the dugout. He's still gonna be at the dressing room and at the stands giving orders. Come on United! The season
