Sir Bobby Charlton Tribute - Forever A Babe

At around 7:12, VDS blocked Anelka's penalty for the 2008 Champions League win, I've never seen Sir Bobby Charlton celebrate like that. Love it. I really hope we win this year and see him as delighted again.

Tina Fey: Authors@Google

Google's Eric Schmidt interviewing Tina Fey, that itself has got to be comedy! She's hilarious as always.

Wil bought Pokémon Black. Now I want one.

I walked around them, went to the DS games, and felt like a teenager buying his first box of condoms. I felt my face get warm, I caught myself looking around to ensure I wasn't being watched, and I reached for the nearest copy of Pokémon Black Version.

I turned it over in my hand and read the back. "I can't believe I'm actually going to do this," I thought. "I'm 38 years-old, and I'm buying Pokémon for the first time in my life."
Read his blog post here.

The Avengers starts shooting tomorrow!

Joss said so himself on Whedonesque:

Hi Pumpkins, joss here.

Tomorrow we start shooting (I THINK I'm legally permitted to say that). Day one. That's right. We'll be shooting the pivotal death/betrayal/product placement/setting up the sequel/coming out scene, at the following address:

[Marvel Lawyers rush in, take Joss's keyboard, blowtorch a picture of his family like in "Stormy Monday", drink his milkshake, leave the seat up, fluff his pillows, violently unfluff his pillows, leave]

Went too far. My bad. Anyhoo, it should be a fun day, followed by the eighty thousand other fun days it will take to finish this. I'll be checking in from time to time, if there's news or I crave attention (i.e. am awake) . None of it will be Avengers news -- I have some very denty pillows to remind of that -- but I may have tidbits. (They're not about Firefly. I should say that up front, if only to protect Sis Mo from the HATORZ.)

Some of you may be saying, Joss! Why this link, here, now, why, huh, howcum? My friend Allyx turned me on to these guys, and I'll tell you, they've gotten me through this intensely pressurized, preply time. I strongly recommend checking out their other vids -- I've watched them many many times, and I have a very special place for "Teamwork" in my heart. These guys are the guys. And IS there a better movie title than "Eagles Are Turning People Into Horses"? I thought not.

So wish me luck. DO IT! LUCK! NOW! I'm off to finish some Buffy pages, and then figure out what the movie is about already. I'm pretty sure it's about the Justice League [Marvel Lawyers re-enter, unspeakability occurs] or possibly something else. I'll get it. I've been looking forward to this. For about 46 years.

Catchphrase!

-j.

This guy is hilarious! Good luck, Joss! Hope The Avengers turn out great!!

A nice article on Edwin's retirement

One April afternoon in 1991, Ajax Amsterdam’s goalkeeper, Stanley Menzo, limped off injured. When his replacement bounded on, you wanted to laugh. The 20-year-old Edwin van der Sar was big-eared, rail thin and dressed entirely in purple with tiny shorts. By way of warming up, he literally skipped around the penalty area. He looked like a particularly camp gymnast. Then he began to keep. Twenty years on, as Manchester United’s keeper prepares to retire next month, he has redefined his profession.

Loved tonight's Community!

And I'm not the only one:
[From @MichaelAusiello]

Community has been really strong this year, and this episode might be my favorite. Although the finale might be pretty damn awesome (Modern Warfare II!!). But this one was definitely my favorite thus far! Seriously, this show must be nominated or win some awards this year and next year! Best comedy on TV this season!

xD

[Convo between @ActuallyNPH and @NathanFillion]

It's nothing, really, I'm just in love with these two.

Rutgersfest, No More

Even though I'm not too excited about Rutgersfest, I feel like it's a part of Rutgers and I never thought (before last weekend) that it will ever be over. I am a little disappointed because I thought it would be a great excuse to come back to Rutgers next year! Unfortunately, with everything that happened post-2011fest, Rutgersfest is no more. *sadface*

Yet another Dr. Horrible Book interview

TV Squad interviewed Maurissa and Jed. As always, they're hilarious
Do you take responsibility for Neil Patrick Harris' career taking off after 'Dr. H.'?
Whedon: Full responsibility. He now gives us a percentage of all his earnings. Even for the stuff he did before 'Dr. H,' or as we call it, the 'other doctor.'

LA Times Hero Complex: Jed Whedon on Dr. Horrible

The article can be found here. I saw this and I squeed:
JP: If you could cast a current singing star in a “Dr. Horrible” episode, who would it be and what would they be like?
JW: Justin Timberlake as Captain Hammer’s sidekick, Nails.

These people really know how to tease me and get me incredibly excited for Dr. Horrible 2! With Maurissa's tweet about Zac Levi for DH2, plus this, it's beyond my dreams! I mean I never would have thought it's possible to have Nathan, Neil, Zac, and JUSTIN all on the same project; and awesome one at that, too! Please, please, please come true! Cos if it doesn't, it's just mean... After Joss directs The Avengers, they all should stop working on whatever they're working on and get on this project! (And get Zac and Justin!)

Commentary: The Musical: The Book?

MTV Geek interviews Zack Whedon about the "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog: The Book" and this is a quote I love. The whole interview itself is fun to read; too short actually. Anywaaaaays... can't wait for the second one!!

Geek: The fans want to know: when are we going to see “Commentary: The Musical: The Book”?
ZW: We are going to first make a book about making the book. Then the Commentary book. Then the book about making that book.

Ryan Giggs: My Life, My Story

I just got it on the mail earlier today and I am reading the foreword by Sir Alex Ferguson. Two paragraphs in, there's this:
But there's one accolade which has yet to materialise, although I trust it is only a matter of time before it does. How I would love to adorn my teamsheet with the words 'Sir Ryan Giggs'.

How so, very true. I'm glad to know that Sir Alex shares our point of view. If any sports figure deserves it, it's Giggsy!

Zach Wahls Speaks About Family

Zach Wahls, a 19-year-old University of Iowa student spoke about the strength of his family during a public forum on House Joint Resolution 6 in the Iowa House of Representatives. Wahls has two mothers, and came to oppose House Joint Resolution 6 which would end civil unions in Iowa.

Amazing speech. He's 19 and is amazing at public speaking, better than many public figures! He's gonna have a bright future ahead of him. And he's actually in engineering, not something that does too much public speaking! Anyways, the speech that he gave was powerful and touching. He delivered it really well, too!

30ninjas.com: The Top “Hey! Well Excuuuuuuse Me Princess!” Movies

She’s the stuck up princess born with both a silver spoon and silver tongue in her mouth. He’s the charming rapscallion from the wrong side of the tracks trying to make a name for himself in a world that has already counted him out. Together, they make up the charming “they hate each other too much to not fall in love” duo that proves that the strongest love can only spring forth from the strongest hate. It’s a built in love story, it’s built in character development, and it’s built in snappy, snarky dialogue that will have you wondering why they don’t just get a room already.

In the same way that your nemesis can only be someone that you respect, so too must these characters overcome their mutual loathing to find common ground. It is this journey that we will embark on, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to venture into the land of razor sharp quips and torrid love affairs.

Tron: Legacy (Graphics)

Read it on Reddit.

So Tron: Legacy wasn't the best movie; definitely didn't stack up to the original Tron. But the graphics was incredible! Especially when they were in that meeting about the program. The whole office looked so...awesome. I like the fact that they're using a legit kill command shown above (and other unix commands). All the pictures from the article are just really pretty, which makes me want to re-watch the movie.

SDCC '11

[One right after the other on my Twitter feed. And I squeed.]
I really, really, really, really want to be able to go to this year's ComicCon!!! I mean it's Zac Levi + Nate Fillion TOGETHER!! Plus, The Nerd Machine's Nerd HQ sounds cool! I'm actually thinking about being a volunteer for TNM and fly out there this summer!

Happy birthday RDJ!

[Robert Downey, Jr. turns 46 today!]

A Little Gossipy..

Not long ago, it was reported that Justin broke up with Jessica. I usually don't care much about gossip/rumors but that one seemed to be true. I just thought it was sad but I let it go; cos really, what does it matter? But it is Justin, and I find it quite hard to not think about him from time to time! xP I love the Friends with Benefits trailer and I thought, Mila is hot and she seems like a fun person. Justin and Mila would be awesomely hot together! And there were rumors about that, too, obviously, but I chose to ignore it (and focused on my imaginations instead).

And then there was this other rumor about Justin being on a date with Olivia Wilde, another fun/hot chick that would be awesomely hot with Justin. They were supposedly on a date at a club together until 3 a.m. and left together. I dismissed the story because, well, he's recently single and this happens every time! Plus, I know they're friends; they were in Alpha Dog together and had just wrapped up Now not too long ago! Here's Wilde's response:

[From @oliviawilde]

I know it's just rumors but it's funny because I currently have girl crushes on these two. And seriously, Justin + either one = hot!

Michael Vartan Is Married

Haven't seen him in a while! Well except for those couple episodes of Alias that I recently watched. But I meant I haven't seen him in anything new in a while! Congrats MV!! Story can be found here:

Michael Vartan Is Married | Michael Vartan
Michael Vartan is off the market thanks to a serendipitous trip to the grocery store.

The former Alias star married Lauren Skaar, whom he met two years ago at a Whole Foods in L.A., at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif., on Saturday.

West Ham 2-4 Manchester United

It's "the stuff of champions." There are many reasons why I love United, and amazing come backs is definitely one of them! I thought we were doing pretty well offensively but Evra and Vidic gave away the two penalties in the first half and suddenly we were 2-0 down away from home. But United doesn't give up. We always believe.

Google interview

[Google NY reception]
So I had my interview at Google NYC yesterday. I was incredibly nervous! I mean... It is Google! It's a huge opportunity and I couldn't even believe that I actually got through the two phone screens and was invited for the on-site interview! I couldn't even believe they contacted me for the initial phone screen! Back to the interview itself...

Obviously, I was very nervous. I hate being nervous for interviews. First of all, nervousness is not the most pleasant feeling. Also, if I'm nervous, I won't be able to think as clearly and I won't be able to articulate my though process as well, which is bad in interviews, and in turn makes me even more nervous!

The on-site interview consisted of four one-on-one technical interviews and a lunch with different software engineers. I also met with the recruiter who had scheduled the phone screens and on-site interview. It was a whole day process, from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Google's New York office.
