Yes, still on Iron Man 2

RDJ is on quite a few magazine cover for this highly anticipated sequel.

On the cover of Entertainment Weekly, he wears one of Iron Man's suits.
RDJ also talked about Iron Man 2’s box office prospects: “With Sherlock Holmes, I said, ‘We’re blowing Avatar out of the water.’ I was personally shocked at the cosmos when it did not respond to my incantations. I’m doing the same garbage this time.”

Even more stuff about Iron Man 2

I am way too excited about this movie (coming out in 9 days!!) and I have to be honest, I was quite upset about the negative first review. It doesn't actually say much about what's wrong with it, but the reviewer definitely didn't enjoy it. Fortunately, soon after, more positive reviews pop-up everywhere. Someone who went to the special fan screening said it best, IMO: "While the first Iron Man was loved by everyone, the second installment seem to divide viewers into two sides." Hell, I don't really give a shit about reviews/critics. Robert Downey Jr. is in it and I sure as hell am gonna enjoy it. Even though it's still unsure whether or not I'm gonna be able to watch it when it comes out. [>.<]

Anyways, the reason I'm posting now is that I might have to temporarily end my Tonight Show with Jay Leno boycott because it's having an Iron Man 2 week!
[The Tonight Show lineup from interbridge.com]
I'm really sorry, CoCo, but I don't know if I can resist RDJ talking about Tony Stark! Plus, I'm so excited about the movie, any of the cast members excite me. Oh, well...

Little Bobby Downey is also gonna be on Late Show with David Letterman tonight!! Can't.wait!

Iron Man 2 Interviews

I find it quite funny that the interviewer's name is Tony Potts (you know, as in Tony Stark/Pepper Potts). Anyways, I've just realized that RDJ has been wearing different tint-colored shades for the interviews. I particularly like this one because the frame suits him and his hair looks really nice. He wore the blue tinted ones from the Oscars before and he wore round, red ones to the premiere (which was today) and someone mentioned purple ones (just found it here. Gotta search for it though). I love you, Downey!

The 5 Worst Deaths Written for Great Characters (And Why)

Taken from here.

#4. Scott Summers (aka Cyclops of the X-Men)

Wolverine gets all the attention, but Cyclops is the X-Men's field leader and second in command. Also, he can destroy a city block by taking his sunglasses off. That should count for something, right?

Oh, and did I mention...

[It does say Giggs 11 at the back! I swear!!]
I FINALLY GOT MY GIGGS JERSEY!!!! And of course, I have the "Barclays Premier League 08/09 Champions" patch! Love it..

Leno's ratings drops below Conan's

So, what are you gonna do now, NBC?

The full story can be found here.

But the main points are:
  1. Yes, Leno has been beating Letterman's ratings since being back on The Tonight Show. BUT CONAN WAS DOING EXACTLY THE SAME BEFORE LENO CAME ON AT 10! (then Leno went on prime-time as a lead-in, CoCo's ratings magically drops and it's all his fault!)
  2. Leno's ratings so far might have been lifted due to all the drama. It's all cooling down now and nobody cares anymore about him.
  3. Leno's ratings have dropped below Conan's, even when his competition, Letterman, has been on repeats this past week!
  4. Conan is getting all the attention now, announcing his deal with TBS and touring on his Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television comedy tour.
  5. Bottom line: I'm with Coco, screw Leno!

Michael C. Hall: cancer free!

[Hall winning the Golden Globe earlier this year]
Congratulations Michael C. Hall for beating cancer! He announced in January, right before the awards season, that he was receiving treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma. Hall won both the Golden Globe and the Screen Actor's Guild awards for his portrayal of serial murderer Dexter Morgan in Dexter.

Bobby on Wossy's show!

God, I love this man! And it's official, Sherlock 2 begins shooting THIS FALL!!!

[side note: this is post #666. What does that mean?]

Rutgers: Drafted!

[Davis celebrating with family and friends after being picked]
Congratulations to Rutgers All-America offensive lineman Anthony Davis (a local guy from Piscataway) who was drafted in the first round, 11th overall, by the San Francisco 49ers. This made him the highest draft pick in Rutgers history.

[21 - Devin McCourty]
Also drafted in the first round, Rutgers All-America cornerback Devin McCourty, selected 27th pick by the New England Patriots.

Congratulations to both guys! Best of luck for both your futures!

Iron Man 2: 2 weeks away!

There's a clip that I've missed!

It's so cute how jealous Pepper was of Natalie. (who wouldn't?!) Love the scene here...

Also, the press conference for the movie was today. And, obviously, Robert Downey Jr. was at the top of his game, impressing the crowd of "journalists" with his one-liners.

Since he couldn't get to the UK, his appearance to Friday Night with Jonathan Ross was limited to video conference only, but I heard he was still as good as he always is. I just can't wait for videos!!

Why am I going even further away?

I made myself promise that I would try to get to know You better and get closer to You. I decided to read the Bible every night. I'm trying my best, but sometimes I just can't remember. But the more I read, the more skeptical I become. I am now rationalizing and questioning everything. I'm comparing Your words to what I know of this world, which is created by You. Why am I going away from You, instead of to You? I'm finding myself dismissing parts of the Scripture and believing even less. And yes, I'm getting scared of what I will be. I know I can't do this alone, that's why I have to go to church. I should find one here. I need this. Please, God, forgive me of my ignorance. And please guide me to Your path, and I will try to listen this time.

RDJ = Wizard of Oz?

There has been rumors that Disney is producing a prequel to the classic Wizard of Oz, and that they want either Robert Downey Jr. or Johnny Depp to play the wizard, before he came to Oz. Obviously, I just could not pick between the two! I mean, I love them both so freaking much! Please, Disney, put them both in the movie!! Whatever their roles may be, it would definitely be one of the most awesome movies of all time!

Isn't it ironic though, that before Iron Man or Pirates of the Caribbean, neither of these two would be anywhere near Disney's leading man list. Nobody would have thought that they would be suitable for a family movie. Downey had to fight hard to be Tony Stark, and Johnny was almost fired, by Disney, because they didn't get Depp's take on Jack Sparrow. Look at them now!

Latest news is that the role has been offered to RDJ (hopefully he'll take it!). Ducky is certainly busy in these next few years, with Iron Man 2 coming in just a couple weeks, Due Date coming in November, the Sherlock Holmes sequel reportedly begins shooting this summer, and The Avengers movie set for 2012 (and possibly Iron Man 3 in between or right after).

But, seriously, Disney, just get them both in the freaking movie!

Eyjafjallajokull

Yup! That's the name of the volcano (pronounced ay-yah-FYAH-lah-yer-kuhl) in Iceland that is causing all sorts of problems right now. I saw the word on Yahoo!'s "Now Trending" list and I just couldn't figure out if it was a glitch or, like on Twitter, just some BS thing that trends because us human beings are just easily entertained morons.

[Lightning from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano]
The ash cloud from the volcano eruption was so great and spread over other countries that it grounded all flights to/from European countries for days, leaving thousands of people stranded and airline companies in huge debt.

I just can't stay away from United!

After the terrible 2 weeks that United had (knocked out of the Champions League after looking like a sure win after 30 minutes; and from leading Chelsea by 2 points, we were chasing the top of the board by 4 points), I told myself that I'm just gonna stay away from anything United--or anything football related--until the end of the season. Because, who knows, maybe United will surprise me with a Premier League trophy celebration!

[The team celebrates after the final whistle]
But the Manchester derby was today and I just couldn't help my curiosity of the score. My spirit was lifted when I saw some Facebook wall posts of United fans having a great day. So I checked Livescore. Apparently, we won 1-0 with a Paul Scholes goal in the 90th minute.

TV Actors Who Should Become Movie Stars

They rounded up the top 10. Even though I was pretty upset that they didn't count Michael C. Hall due to the excellent group work of Dexter, I was quite happy that another favorite of mine, Joel McHale, made the cut! [^.^]

100 Movies to See Before You Die

Again, found this on Yahoo! The Modern Classics. I haven't seen most of them and I'm gonna download as many as possible in this next month. Gonna have a whole bunch to watch during summer break :)

Just went through the list, and I haven't watched most of them, which makes me excited! :)

Iron Man 2: 24 more days!

Yes, I am counting down the days. ET Online has a coverage that highlights the Tony/Pepper relationship and shows quite a bit of new clips.

VSPink Collegiate Showdown

Victoria's Secret's Pink is throwing a party at a university. The university is chosen through a voting process, and Rutgers is in the final! The final voting is underway and we're leading the other finalist, West Virginia University, by–a lot! :) It's a Big East showdown here at the final and I WANT RUTGERS TO WIN!! I'm not quite sure what party they're talking about but it's just exciting.

House is back!

It just seems like so long ago that there's a new House episode!! Tonight's episode was directed by Hugh Laurie. The hospital was in lock-down because an infant was missing from her crib.

Interactive Trailer

This is really cool!

...and CoCo ends up on TBS!

That was quite a surprise! All the talks have been that Conan is going to Fox. I thought they were just waiting for Conan's release clause to end (something about no contract talks for a few months) and he'll be going to Fox. Guess not! (Rumor is Fox affiliates are not exactly set on the idea of having Conan on their network at 11).

A statement from Conan:
In three months I've gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theater, and now I'm headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly.

Conan's show will air on TBS at 11 p.m. starting in November, pushing Lopez Tonight back to midnight. Kinda ironic, isn't it, that CoCo ends up pushing another late show back to midnight? But I heard that George Lopez actually personally called Conan to ask him to be his lead-in. Conan is currently kicking off his "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television" tour tonight in Oregon.

Justin's Friends with Benefits

I guess J is really going into this acting thing because, other than currently shooting the romcom Bad Teacher with Cameron Diaz, he's set to star in another.
Justin Timberlake is making a deal to star in Friends With Benefits, a Screen Gems romantic comedy that becomes one of three bed-hopping-themed projects going by the same title. Timberlake will star in a romantic comedy directed by Will Gluck, whose recently completed Screen Gems comedy,  Easy A, has tested strongly and is bound for a Toronto Film Festival bow. A headhunter recruits a magazine editor and since each is too busy to find a mate, they agree to sleep together with no strings attached. Things get complicated when the guy falls for the girl, who’s dating someone else. The script was written by Keith Merryman and David Newman, but Gluck is expected to do a rewrite.

If heaven exists, what would you want to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

I've been watching Inside the Actor's Studio quite a bit this past 2 days and I'm just fascinated by these people. They're at the top of their field, wildly famous and looked up to by many people, yet they are all so grounded. I know I watched a video of this a while back and I thought the interviewer, James Lipton, is such a creepy guy. Now that I know better, I understand how brilliant he is at what he's doing. And I also have a greater understanding and respect at what actors do, and what movie-making is all about.

At the end of each interview, Lipton does this "questionnaire" that consists of 10 questions:
  1. What is your favorite word?
  2. What is your least favorite word?
  3. What turns you on?
  4. What turns you off?
  5. What sound or noise do you love?
  6. What sound or noise do you hate?
  7. What is your favorite curse word?
  8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
  9. What profession would you not like to do?
  10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

These fascinating people have some fascinating answers. I have here some answers to the last question:

Susan Downey: Iron Woman

Just found this, a great read.
Though there were no initial sparks when Susan met Robert ("I thought he was a brilliant actor, but it didn't go beyond that. I saw him more like a professor or someone's older brother"), after a few weeks of working with him, she began to have second thoughts. "Four of us would work out together after the shoot, and one day, when we were on the treadmills, Robert goes, 'Levin, you wanna go to dinner?' and I said, 'Eh, I'll grab something to eat,' so we agreed to go change and meet in the lobby. And as he walked down the stairs toward me, I remember looking up at him and suddenly thinking, He's really cute."

[clipped from article]

Rubber Ducky Jr

I finally found it!!!!!

So Robert's fans have been calling him Rubber Ducky Jr because he called himself that in an interview. I've been trying to find it AND I FINALLY DID!!! How awesome is this guy?! *swoon* [and the interview itself was pretty fun]
