MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to everyone, have a joyful holidays.

I really, really miss my family around this holiday season. Christmas is always about being with them, just spending the whole day (or week) together. My first Christmas without my family, it sucks! Well not really, but I really miss them.

Manchester United are world's best!

After conquering England and Europe, Manchester United were crowned kings of the world in Japan early this morning. United made history being the first British team to win the Club World Cup. After beating Gamba Osaka a few days earlier in the semifinal, United played LDU Quito to determine which club rules the Earth in 2008.

In the first half, United played brilliant football, dominated the match and created good chances, but was unable to make it count. Ji-Sung Park, Wayne Rooney, and Carlos Tevez each had at least one great chance, but LDU Quito's goalkeeper was equal. Both teams went into the break scoreless.

Only five minutes after the interval, Nemanja Vidic got a straight red from the referee after elbowing the opponent in the face. Tevez was sacrificed by Sir Alex Ferguson and young Jonny Evans grabbed his chance keeping the United defense solid.

Down to 10 men, United were unable to press LDU quite as well as in the first period, forcing Edwin van der Sar to make very good saves. But the English champions didn't let the man disadvantage get in their way. In the 73rd minute, Michael Carrick found Cristiano Ronaldo in the middle of the box, who drew 3 LDU defenders to him. Seeing Rooney on his left unmarked, Ronaldo laid the ball in front of him and Rooney's first touch strike to the left corner couldn't be stopped by LDU's goalkeeper. Only one goal was needed to determine the best club in the world.

Line-up: Van der Sar; Rafael (Neville), Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Ronaldo, Anderson (Fletcher), Carrick, Park; Rooney, Tevez (Evans).
Unused subs: Brown, Giggs, Nani, Scholes

Rooney, scoring 3 goals in 2 matches, equalled the competition's all-time top goalscorer record. He was also named this year's tournament's best player while Ronaldo was named second best.

I'M DONE!!!

Fall 2008 semester is finally over! I had my last final (Psych) this morning and now I'm done!!! And it's snowing A LOT right now. Hoping that it would stick around. Supposedly there's gonna be storm/blizzard today and it's gonna snow the whole weekend - according to weather.com anyway (which is rarely right, somehow) I'm so happy!!!

SHIT THIS GIRL IS SO DRAMATIC AND OVERACTING ON EVERYTHING! SHE'S LOUD TOO
[just some thought while posting]

Jose Reunion

Manchester United will be facing Jose Mourinho once again. Jose with his new team Inter Milan is drawn against United at the Champions League first knock-out stage. The two teams will meet at San Siro on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 for the first leg.

Complete draw:
Chelsea v Juventus
Villarreal v Panathinaikos
Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich
Atletico Madrid v FC Porto
Olympique Lyonnais v Barcelona
Real Madrid v Liverpool
Arsenal v AS Roma
Internazionale v United

The last time United was at San Siro, it was 2 seasons ago in the Champions League but the opposition was AC Milan. United was outclassed and outplayed there. The last time United faced Jose in the competition, he was the manager of FC Porto and knocked United out. So history goes to them, but we're a different team than two years ago, and a couple before that. COME ON UNITED! We can actually be the first team to win the top European Cup twice in a row.

Finals week

It's finally finals week here at Rutgers. My first final is Linear Algebra, tomorrow morning at 8am! >_____<" I have no idea how I'm gonna wake up that early cos lately I've been waking up at 11.30-12pm. But since it's a final exam I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be able to wake up. I sure do hope so. Been trying to study for it the whole day today but I keep on getting distracted every 5 minutes. Studying is HARD!!!

Spent last week watching all 5 seasons of Entourage (it's pretty good, but not really something I'm gonna watch over and over again) and since yesterday I've been watching Friends again. (already at S02E03 now)

Haha CS205

This is definitely the first class I've taken where the lecturer
cancels classes more than I skip! Even though I dot think I'm doing
that well in this class (50 something out of 80 on hw1, missed hw3, 58
on midterm) I still think that I won't get such a bad grade. Last
semester someone did ok on the midterm, do well on hws, but failed the
final and still got an A. I can actually get B+ then..

ah...

Let me just say that Matthew Perry is so damn cute! LOL

After obsessing about Studio 60 and why such a good show was canceled after only 1 season, I decided to watch The Whole Nine Yards and The Whole Ten Yards movies. Thought it would make me feel better after NBC prevented me from having Matty on a good show every week. And those movies did their job! Matty was so freaking funny (well the movies were just hilarious) and I just love him! He's soooo adorable...

I also watched interviews of him with Bruce Willis promoting the movie on YouTube, and those two are so funny! Matty makes everything better. It's freezing outside and I haven't had a decent meal since 22 hours ago but I'm still happy =)

Been doing my CS112 HW since Friday night and I finally got it done last night.. or I think I got it done.. so TWTY last night was my reward lol

disappointed...

So I just watched the last episode of Grey's Anatomy and I just gotta say, WTF?! The show's first season was the best, but seasons 2 and 3 weren't that bad. But this season?! They have a dead fiancee (Denny Duquette) running around with Izzie wherever she goes. And they're trying to hire a crazy cardio specialist. I mean, it was supposed to be a show about hospitals. What's up with all the crazy stuff? Even Joel McHale (E!'s The Soup host) agrees with me!! [video after the jump]

Still upset that they canceled S60 [yeah I know it's a different network but it's TV in general]. It was actually a good show that was doing quite well. Need to find a good quality TV show soon or I'm gonna lose my mind... [or just start watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S or S60 again] Anyone who didn't watch S60, just watch the first scene of the first episode. The rant was just so good. That was when I knew the show would be good...

Bring S60 back!!

Well you know.. this is what happen when I get so into something. Studio 60 was pure genius and Matty and Bradley would have got Emmys (or at least nominations) if only the show was picked up for a second season. Instead of watching dumb talentless people on reality shows, we should bring Studio 60 back, a show that actually makes us think.

It's a smart show, which is actually why not that many people watch it. It was on after Heroes. Wrong time slot NBC! The viewers for those shows are very different. S60 was actually the most digitally recorded show so the ratings were actually better than reported. It wasn't a failure; NBC failed it. It might suit better on HBO but any network that's up to the challenge should bring it back! [sign petition(s) below]

Oh and anyways

I just need to add something. I have always loved Matthew Perry and watching Studio 60 made me love him even more. Even when playing in a serious drama you still can see the genius behind the character. He just has the perfect comic timing. Plus, had the show went on, Matty could actually get an Emmy for his performance. If he didn't want people to know him for Chandler forever, that was it. Matthew Perry is Matt Albie now. I really believe that if NBC didn't pull the plug, an Emmy for Matty as Best Lead Actor is his to be lost. (Another reason I'm blaming NBC for whatever reason)

Also, I developed a huge crush on Matty's co-star Bradley Whitford. As Danny Tripp, he has a great chemistry with Matty. After watching interviews of him on YouTube you can see his funny side. He's very goofy, though I thought he would be a serious guy (cos he was on The West Wing and he definitely didn't have any goofy side there). Especially his Emmy win, his speech was hands down the best acceptance speech ever.

*NSYNC Flashback - November 1998

NSYNC made a number of appearances during November of 1998 including The Tonight Show, TRL and Ricki Lake, but I've decided to upload their appearance on The Howie Mandel Show for this month's Flashback because it's a nice long interview where everyone gets to talk and they do a nice performance of God Must Have Spent. Enjoy the clip!

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

I watched the whole season of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip again during Thanksgiving break and I think this show was awesome! Still don't understand why NBC would cancel it when it was actually doing well both against the critics, ratings and viewers (great demographic too). In fact, it was doing better than other NBC shows like 30 Rock and Friday Night Lights [see video below for details] but those two got picked up for a second season while S60 didn't.

The great Aaron Sorkin wrote - and created - the show. And the whole show just show what a genius he is. The language that he uses is just amazing. Just love all the dialogues, and the humor that he put in. There are a lot of inside jokes that I didn't understand the first time I watched the show so watching it the second time was actually better. I always thought that I don't like anything with too much dialogue in it but this show proved me wrong. The casting was great, too. Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, Amanda Peet, and everyone else had great chemistry.

The story itself was a little bit autobiographical to Sorkin's life. He based the main character, Matthew Albie, on himself and a little bit of Matthew Perry. Albie's relationship with Harriet Hayes was also a portrayal of Sorkin's relationship with Kristin Chenoweth. Studio 60 shows the behind-the-scene of a comedy sketch show, kinda like Saturday Night Live. It's an intense drama with the type of humor that I really enjoyed. Some people said that the show was actually canceled because it's "too smart" - shows how dumb the viewers are, really.

Great video explaining how stupid NBC was for canceling the show!! [kudos to whoever owns the vid]

I know it's pathetic but I still have a little hope that NBC - or any other network for that matter - would come to their senses and pick up the show again. I just miss seeing Matty on a weekly basis in a good show.

Ronaldo wins Ballon d'Or

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo was just named 2008 World Footballer of the Year. The award was announced earlier today, December 1, 2008. Ronaldo was definitely the favorite to receive the Ballon d'Or, with his remarkable performance last season. 42 goals in one season, as a winger too, helping his team win the Premier League and the Champions League. Lionel Messi comes in second and Fernando Torres gets third.

At age 23, Ronaldo should be able to improve even further, and he could be the best player in the world not just for a year, but for his whole career. Lets just hope he doesn't get too much into it and stay grounded and most importantly not make stupid decisions (like leaving United) that can end his career.

Manchester United is currently 3rd in the Barclay's Premier League, behind current leaders Liverpool and Chelsea, 6 and 5 points respectively but United has one game in hand.

Congrats Ron, nobody could have deserved it more than you. This season hasn't shape up to be as it was last season but you had an injury and you're still doing better than most players. Just keep your head in the game and you'll be fine...

I'm just bored...

I was just browsing YouTube like I always do and I found this vid of *NSYNC reunion... (yay!!!) I thought it was pretty cool. Wonder how it would be like if we can actually see all 5 guys together in the same room.

If only Lance won DWTS it would have been funnier (if Extra did it after the show) [and that's a lot of ifs]

Happy thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, have a good break and enjoy the feast =)

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Third place?! :'(

I thought you were awesome, Lance! I guess Joey really did set the bar really high but you did your thing. And seeing your progress from the first week to taking that top spot on the semifinal (by 8 points!) just blew me away. You and Lacey were the perfect pairing. You guys were definitely the most entertaining. Have a blast with the tour (I was hoping for an *NSYNC tour but DWTS will do...I guess...) Love you Lansten! :)

[oh yeah, congrats to Brooke n Derek, you guys totally deserve it. Was obvious since the beginning of the competition]

Thanks to my suitemates n friends for last night :) I really didn't expect that :)

HaeIn, Lisa, Emily, Rupal, Linda, Matt, Kevin, Lester, Dhruv, David... LOVE YOU GUYS!! [^.^]

Thanksgiving break...

Was supposed to leave for t. Philia's house tonight but that damn
experiment for my CS112 class is taking WAY too long! So I decided to
stay tonight n work on it until we're done n just go tomorrow night.

I feel bad cos when I called t. Philia about it she seemed hesitant
too. I guess they have more stuff to do tomorrow.

I just can't wait to go there n get good food :) hopefully tonight I
can hang out n have fun w/ my friends (after I'm done with the
experiment, of course)

Some J news...

Apparently Justin just bought a pad in New York (yay!!) originally priced at $5.25m but he got it at $4.77m. It's approximately 3,000 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Well it's located in the Tribeca neighborhood or something, since I don't know anything about these things just read online articles [or this detailed one]. Looks like a nice one, but I know nothing bout real estate...but if Justin likes it... =p

The New York Post said the 27-year-old singer purchased a three-bedroom in New York’s hip TriBeCa neighborhood.
The paper said the spread includes a 52-foot-long living/dining room, a gourmet kitchen and a built-in sound system. There are also floor-to-ceiling windows offering great views of sunsets over the Hudson River.

Well reports say that he's been wanting to live in New York for a while now, and he always says that he loves NYC (his fave if I remember correctly). Well he's gonna be with Jess but who cares! If that means he's gonna be an hour train ride away from Rutgers  most of the time, I'll spend a couple hundred dollars a month to go there lol. Wherever Washington Street is...

And on something completely different, NBC.com has put up a video of Justin backstage with Andy Samberg after his brief appearance on SNL last weekend. But apparently they have to take down the Beyonce video skit because of music rights (all vids on YouTube were taken down as well).

Sexiest Man Alive

Well everyone probably know by now that Hugh Jackman is named 2008 Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. (Happy birthday to Hugh who turned 40 not too long ago lol)

Cristiano Ronaldo was named one of the Sexiest Men Alive while Justin Timberlake was one of the Men of the Year. [still don't understand how he's not one the Sexiest Men list!)]

Forbes.com released their latest list of the top 20 Hollywood twosomes who made the most this past year.

5. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie ($34m)
6. Judd Apatow & Leslie Mann ($30m)
7. Gavin Rossdale & Gwen Stefani ($28m)
8. Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman ($25m)
9. Tony Parker & Eva Longoria ($22.5m)
10. Harrison Ford & Calista Flockhart ($22m)
11. Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker ($21m)
12. Sacha Baron Cohen & Isla Fisher ($20m)

18. Josh Duhamel & Fergie ($13m)
19. Marc Anthony & Jennifer Lopez ($11m)
20. Pete Wentz & Ashlee Simpson ($9.5m)

Though Justin would be in, cos he's been pretty busy lately - though it's not an album or a tour, and he did some charity work too. So I guess he's not making as much. Wouldn't you think that Justin and Jess will (at least) make more than Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson?

These people with talent!! (part 2)

Milan Simon Tuttle. Remember the name. She's 5, she's tiny, but she knows what she's doing! [watch the vid...]

I mean, how literally, the basketballs look huge next to her but how she handles them is just amazing. She might actually dribble better than pros...at age 5!!! This is what prodigy means.

Cooking Mama - Mama Kills Animals

WTF?! Peta created a game based on the infamous Cooking Mama...but this one is definitely not for kids!

Follow Justin's lead!

Justin's new song is up on his MySpace page (you can listen to it for free there). The song, "Follow My Lead" was recorded live with Esmee Denters from his Justin Timberlake and Friends concert back in October.

The song can be downloaded for 99cents from Amazon.com and the profits will go to his charity to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

It's a cool song, check it out.

Class registration

Had to register for my Spring 2009 classes last night at 10pm. But since I was watching Total Finale Live I was about 4 minutes late signing in to WebReg. Man did those 4 minutes count a lot! The MicroEcon section that I wanted got filled up so instead I would have to take the morning class! Hopefully someone would drop it in time for me to swipe the spot :)

My classes for next semester:
01:198:113 [Software Methodology]
01:198:206 [Intro to Discrete Structures II]
01:355:101 [Expository Writing I]
01:750:204 [General Physics II]
01:750:206 [General Physics II Lab]
01:220:102 [Intro to Microeconomics]

Taking full 18 credits again. Hoping for the best :)

I will never forget you...

So the show is over but it will always be in a special place in my heart. Back in the day when MTV was the coolest channel out there, I used to run home from school (well I ran from my car to the living room) turned on MTV, would get upset if I miss the smallest part of TRL, even just the opening scene, and spent the next 60 minutes sitting in front of the TV. TRL was THE show. All the guests and VJs and videos... Gonna miss you all! I watched the show every day since when Carson was the one and only host of the show, then it went to Damien with LaLa, Vanessa, and Quddus, and later on with all the other VJs. It was a great time for music and music videos on TV.

Damien, Carson, wish you both the best of lucks on your projects. You guys were the best.

A couple of the *NSYNCers backstage

Reminiscing the first performance of *NSYNC

Some videos of the show's highlights:

Justin and JC's appearance

Good Charlotte sending their love to Justin

Justin introducing Esmee Denters, and talking about their performance together, and Rihanna's "Rehab" video (which will be premiered on MTV today)

Goodnight TRL... :'(

I'm gonna miss the show very much...

Anyways, after Carson said in an interview that he preferred *NSYNC over Backstreet Boys, the Fall Out Boys said the same thing...

It was the last question there...

Total Finale Live

That's it! TRL is officially over! Hosted by original host Carson Daly and the host for the last 6 years Damien Fahey, and throughout the show they do a final countdown. The producers picked the 10 videos that define TRL, changed pop culture and music videos themselves.

Iconic TRL Videos

10. OutKast - Hey Ya!
9. Blink 182 - What's My Age Again
8. Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris - Yeah!
7. Beyonce & Jay-Z - Crazy In Love
6. Kid Rock - Bawitdaba
5. Christina Aguilera - Dirrty
4. *NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye [I know this one was gonna be on the list but I don't like the fact that they're right below BSB!! lol]
3. Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way
2. Eminem - The Real Slim Shady
1. Britney Spears - Baby One More Time [of course!]

Justin Timberlake & JC Chasez showed up 66 minutes into the show. They showed up, talked to Carson for about 3 minutes, and I couldn't stop smiling. Thought they were gonna take a look back down memory lane of all the *NSYNC days instead they were just talking about random stuff and Carson was talking most of the time... Great to see 2 of the boys back together. Looking good, too! Kinda expected a lot more of them (and the rest of the group) though :(

Justin showed up again later on the show. First he showed up with Damien talking about the Halle Berry surprise [according to Justin, "one of the finer moments" of his life] and his "Cry Me A River" and "Like I Love You" performance that made #1 in their Favorite Live Performances countdown. Then he showed up with Lyndsay and Esmee Denters talking about her and their performance together in Justin Timberlake and Friends (as a part of his golf tournament). Song will be available for download on Amazon.com on Tuesday. Profits will go to charity for Shriner's Hospital for Children.

The show was scheduled for 2 1/2 hours but it went over to 3 hours.

I really am sad that the show is over, even though I haven't watched it in the last couple of years. Definitely the end of an era here. TRL was the place to be for new musicians trying to break through. When they started, not many people knew what the Internet is; there was no MySpace or YouTube for artists to showcase their talents, and TRL provides that. Gonna miss them blocking Times Square, with all the superstar guests and amazing performances. Damien and Carson, love you both so much, hope you guys do well after the show. I don't know why but because TRL is actually over, I kinda lost a little hope in *NSYNC getting back together, cos that show was them...in a way... *tears* The one good show on MTV is now gone.

Justin on SNL

Justin made a special appearance on SNL tonight. Apparently he was scheduled to appear on the thanksgiving show but he had to cancel so he showed up today with a quick overview of what he'd be doing in the show.

He's just hilarious! Gotta find vids... Vids after the jump

Too bad he won't be doing the thanksgiving show cos it would be awesome to have him doing skits for the whole show instead of just a few minutes. Funny as hell though.

Just a bit

Since MTV TRL's Total Finale Live is being aired tomorrow there's been a lot of interviews with the VJs in the past few days. I read the ones with the original host, Carson Daly, and current host, Damien Fahey.

Some bits (from TVGuide.com):
Two familiar faces on TRL expected to make the New York soiree are Spears' ex, Justin Timberlake, and his former bandmate, JC Chasez. "I don't think 'N SYNC will make it. I know Justin will show up," Fahey said. "I wouldn't bet money against [an 'N SYNC reunion], but at this point, it's not looking likely. But you never know, that's the beauty of TRL."
The rest of this article.
TVGuide.com: So you couldn't really say it then, but you can now. Who did you like more: BSB or 'N SYNC?
Daly:
I always preferred 'N SYNC. I can say that now, 10 years later. I hung out a little bit more with them. We traveled a lot together. There was TRL at the Super Bowl, and Spring Break. We saw each other, this high school group, like all the time, actually. I think I hung out a lot more personally with Justin and Joey and Lance and those guys during that time. And their music to me was just more progressive pop. Backstreet was more R&B.
The rest of this one.

Yeah, Carson, I like *NSYNC better too :) I knew I liked you for a reason! lol And people, it's *NSYNC, not N'Sync or 'N SYNC or whatever. Get it right!!

50 years ago today...

Can't believe it's been 50 years since Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson breaks into the professional football scene. (my parents weren't even born yet at the time!)

On November 15, 1958, a 16-year-old boy named Alex Ferguson made his debut at professional football for Queens Park FC. The young striker didn't have a good game, and the match ended in a loss.

After a successful managerial career at Aberdeen, Ferguson was appointed manager of Manchester United Foorball Club in 1986. 21 years later, he is now the longest serving manager in modern football, covered with all the glorious trophies he had won with the team.

A good article on the 50 years of Sir Alex's career.

At age 66, Sir Alex Ferguson had stated several times that he will not be a manager when he hits 70. After building his latest winning team filled with young talents and older experiences, it looks like he will end on a high.

Manchester United 5-0 Stoke City

Great comeback, guys! After being criticized for being unable to take their chances last week against Arsenal, the boys came back striking 5 goals past Thomas Sorensen. Despite missing Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, and Gary Neville due to injuries or sickness, United were at the top of their game with the little flicks and passes, crushing newcomers Stoke City.

Other than goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, who was named captain by Sir Alex Ferguson, United's line up was very young. Johnny Evans comes in for Rio, and John O'Shea was placed at right back. Manucho, Rafael da Silva, Danny Wellbeck, and Darron Gibson were all on the bench waiting for their chance to shine on top level football.

Before the match, the pressure was all on United. Having lost to Arsenal in the previous week, the Red Devils HAD to win if they want to keep their chance on getting a hat-trick of titles. Stoke's secret weapon was Rory Delap's long throws which has caused problems for many teams this season.

United tried to put pressure early on. And it paid off right away! Carlos Tevez was fouled outside of the area by Abdoulaye Faye. Perfect spot and nice angle for Cristiano Ronaldo. It was set up perfectly for him to get his 100th goal for Manchester United. Typical strike from the young man, dipping, swerving, and gaining pace in the air. Sorensen could have done better, though. He was late to react and was just perplexed by Ronaldo's reputation on his freekicks. Four minutes into the match, the home side was 1-0 up.

In the 12th minute, Delap got his chance to show United the danger of his throw-ins. He had Stretford End behind him booing. Van der Sar stayed on his line - not like most goalkeepers - perhaps to see just how dangerous it really is. Stoke almost got lucky with it; O'Shea jumped and got his head to the ball, only to swirl it to the direction of his own goal. Fortunately, van der Sar was able to tip it away. Throughout the match, Delap had a couple more chances to put the ball into the area from the touchline, and van der Sar went up outside the near post for those times.

United's first half performance was steady, getting 75% of possession and always trying to put pressure. Stoke's defense was hard to break and United weren't as fast as some would like. With 1 minute added to the first half, it looked like both teams were settling with 1-0 going into the break. At the dying seconds, though, Michael Carrick broke through the defense and hit an unstoppable shot at Sorensen's near post. Half time, 2-0 for the home team who dominated the entire half; looked like the game was done.

The second half whistle went off and United attacked Stretford End right away. The fans behind the goal were sucking the ball into the net, as usual. Right at the start of the last 45 minutes, Carlos Tevez crossed from the right finding Dimitar Berbatov who controlled the ball and turned, and put a shot in the near post. Great skill from the Bulgarian, no chance for the goalkeeper. United got 1 at the beginning of the match, another at the end of the first half, one more at the start of the second. All crucial times to score the goals. The match was obviously over by then.

Having comfortable lead in the game, Sir Alex decided to give his young stars a chance. Darron Gibson and Danny Wellbeck were brought in replacing Ji Sung Park and Darren Fletcher with half an hour to go. Announcing his arrival at the Premier League, 17-year-old striker Wellbeck unleashed a screamer to the top corner. Sorensen had no chance. What a way to get his first goal!

Stoke's fans had been most vocal of other away fans. Singing "stand up if you beat Arsenal" from the start of the match, cheering loudly every time Delap gets a throw-in on his favorite position, and booing Ronaldo every touch he gets. Will they ever learn, though, that booing Ronaldo never does good for the opposition team? Ronaldo showed his class once again, with another free kick. This time fooling Sorensen, who was expecting another swirling ball, Ron curled it into the bottom of the far post. 101 goals for the man so far, and he's still 23!

United's line up: Van der Sar; O'Shea, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Ronaldo, Fletcher (Gibson 63), Carrick, Park (Wellbeck 63); Tevez (Manucho 75), Berbatov.

Some news that makes things even better, Arsenal lost 0-2 to Aston Villa, at home! And Frazier Campbell, on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, scored against Fulham.

3. Outkast - Hey Ya!
2. 50 Cent - Disco Inferno (06.03.04)
1. Justin Timbelake - Like I Love You

Of course, gotta be Justin topping that list! :) Well he's been pretty much getting into the entertainment industry together with the show since back in the band's days. Started today's show with *NSYNC's first performance ever on TRL and closed it with Justin blocking Times Square.

Man, it's so sad... after 10 long years they have to say goodbye (kinda like F.R.I.E.N.D.S isn't it?)

Gotta watch this Sunday's Total Finale Live, 8pm ET.

300mill for creating a game...

I know Rock Band is like the hottest game around right now (and yeah, I haven't tried that) but I didn't know it makes that much money!

An article at yahoo.com says that the makers of the game will receive a total of $300 million for the game. Half of it received this year, the other half next year. Man these people are rich!

Bloomberg reports that Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy, co-founders of Rock Band developer Harmonix, are set to receive a whopping $300 million in bonuses from parent company Viacom.
Rigopolus and Egozy have already received $150 million for "exceeding targets" last quarter, and will see the remaining $150 million in 2009.

SurveyU

I don't really know much about this but it's pretty cool. I got $15 (can be redemeed as PayPal cash, Amazon, or iTunes gift certificate) after spending less than 30 minutes on the site... Not a bad way to make money eh?

Found out about this from an email from Rutgers. You just need to do some surveys and receive points for them. Here's the link to the site. I think you just have to be a college student to be eligible.

2 down, 3 to go

Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez are confirmed to appear on MTV TRL's finale show this Sunday, November 16th (8pm ET). Gotta be fun, and sad, at the same time...

So we have 2 of the 5 *NSYNC guys confirmed. I really hope the other 3 would drop by as well. Lance has DWTS (congrats on being on the semifinals!) but he can take a few hours off and head to NY. Joey and Chris should have time for this... Come on, the Backstreet Boys are coming (with Kevin, too!). It would cheer us up with MTV TRL leaving, we have the *NSYNCers back together. For the sake of all the wonderful memories you guys gave us doing the show...

Manchester United 1-0 QPR

Can't believe United needed a penalty to win the game! Well I didn't watch it so I don't know how the game actually went but come on!! Winning only by a goal over a Championship opponent isn't that great, needing a penalty for the win makes it even worse...

COME ON BOYS! We can do better than this!!

On other news, Owen Hargreaves will be out for the rest of the season after having a surgery performed on his knee. Will miss you Hargo... :(

Justin surprises Ellen... AGAIN!!! :)

Well he kinda did it a few times already but it never gets old. I love it when he's on the show!! Well each of them is funny on his/her own but the two of them together is just hilarious!!

Totally makes my day!! Well it wasn't so bad to begin with but it's amazing... The taping was for Taylor Swift album release party and she's a huge JT fan, too! So Ellen flew her friend from Kansas for a surprise, and added to that, she gets to sit next to Justin... Lucky b*tch! (jk, I like Taylor...) Ah, I was so excited...

Justin's bits:

And Ellen was on Justin's PGA tour in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and they showed a clip on her show. Seems like they had a blast... (Can't embed it but you can watch it here)

A little mention of Rutgers

and it's about fat sandwiches!! Well, Fat Darrel, mostly. LOL Didn't know that the Grease Trucks are actually famous in a way. I know it's kinda a big deal here at Rutgers (since they were talking about it during orientation in one of the speeches) but I didn't know it was special.

The title of the list is 10 Great American Food, Humble Beginnings. Apparently Fat Darrel is pretty famous...

6. R.U. Hungry, New Brunswick, N.J.
The Fat Darrell

You may not know what the Fat Darrell is, but when you hear what it contains, you’ll understand why it’s truly a work of inspired genius. Since 1979, Rutgers University has played host to a collection of mobile food vans collectively known as the “Grease Trucks.” Originally, they served a sandwich called the Fat Cat, which contained two cheeseburger patties, French fries, lettuce, tomato, and onions. Then one night in 1997, a hungry (and broke) student named Darrell W. Butler convinced one of the vendors to put chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, French fries, and marinara sauce on a sandwich. Strangely, the concoction sounded so appetizing that the next 10 people in line ordered it, and the Fat Darrell became a mainstay at the Grease Trucks. Hey, not any old sandwich gets to be named Maxim magazine’s top “Meat Hog” sandwich.

Heard that if you want to name a fat sandwich you have to create one that's different than the ones that are already there, and you have to eat a certain amount of that thing (heard it was 10).

You can see the complete list here.

Grease Trucks actually has its own Wikipedia page!!

Brandon Soo Hoo

Just finished watching the movie Tropic Thunder, and I have a little crush on Brandon Soo Hoo =) He's still like 12 but he looks really cool...

Brandon is Chinese American, born in Los Angeles. He's pretty new in the industry. His first big role is in this movie, with the all star cast (Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Tom Cruise, Matthew McCounaghey) But he has a major role.

He plays Tran, the leader of a gang Flaming Dragon that deals heroine in Asia. He has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which is cool... I just like his performance there, and he looks cute too! Wonder what he'll be like when he grows up...

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United

A GREAT start for the weekend, isn't it? Waking up at 7.30 am to see United lost... In all fairness, Arsenal played well. The game itself was very entertaining. United missed too many chances and the defense was pure crap. Great job by Rafael, coming in for Gary Neville who weren't playing well, turned United's right side from vulnerable to dangerous in attack. The goal was really good, too. Unfortunately we couldn't celebrate it with a point.

Easy chances were missed by Carrick, Rooney, and Ronaldo (the ones that I can remember now). We could have won the game if we grabbed our chances. Rafael came in with half an hour left in the game and turned the game around. Ronaldo got his partner in attack from the right and United were instantly more dangerous.

Gary Neville didn't have the best of games. I can understand why Fergie chose him. Brown was injured so it was either Neville or Rafael. With the experience difference between the two, it's obvious why Fergie would choose United's #1 captain. But when Rafael finally got his chance in the big game, he showed everyone that he's here and he won't let his lack of experience get in the way of being chosen for the starting XI. Neville, beware, he might just took that spot away from you...

United's defense was just terrible. Arsenal got too many free headers and space in front of goal. I don't know what happened there. And we were slow, too!

We really need to get back to our winning form soon if we want the trophies! I felt really terrible after the final whistle. Haven't felt like that in a while... My heart was pounding so hard that my chest started hurting and it was a little hard to breath. Felt like something was stuck in my throat. Damn... So I'm gonna be watching the last season of F.R.I.E.N.D.S all day today to make myself feel better. And hopefully by the end of the night I'd get my programming assignment done.

Wouldnt it be great?

If you got dumped by some guy and end up having Justin Timberlake sit next to you to make you feel better? (read full post for vid)

Video is from E! News Online from a preview of Ellen's show Tuesday (11/11).

P.S - breaking up over the phone in 25 seconds? Come on!

Another cool site

Didn't mention it at my other post...

This is where I get all my iPhone apps for free! Well there's always jailbreaking the iPhone (which I did) and get the Installer/Cydia but this is even better cos it has more apps there...

Ronaldo tops FourFourTwo list

FourFourTwo football magazine listed their picks for 100 best players in the world, with Cristiano Ronaldo named the best. This year can't be any better for him, winning so many awards to his name.

The Portuguese winger tops the magazine's annual countdown of the top 100 footballers in the planet, beating last year's winner Lionel Messi, and another strong contender, Kaka.

Ron's teammate Rio Ferdinand is also in the top 10, making him the highest rank defender on the list. 6 other United players are in the full list.

The full top 10 list can be found here.

I am so proud of myself!!!

Beberapa hari ini sibuk banget blajar bwat exam n nulis paper. Akirnya bisa istirahat bentar, hari ini aja, soale bsk dah hrs mbetulin paper buat rough draft 2.

Tadi waktu di kelas, dibagiin paper yg trakir. Sebelum kelas, tiba2 guruku datengin, tanya2 ttg aku nulis paper ya apa. Aku bilang sih saadane ide tatulis ae. Trus dee blg, bagus paperku... Yeee, hepy deh, paling ga g parah. Eh tapi pas masuk kelas, suru ngumpulin rough draft yang baru n mbaca punyae temen. Tiba2 dee lecture. Katae paper yg trakir itu disappointing. Trus dee bilangno problem2 yg sering muncul d paper2 kita. Aku mrasa kira2 sparo aku ada smua...

Nah, abis gitu dee blg mo mbagi paper yg trakir itu sambil dipanggil satu2 k dpn gitu, diajak ngmg2 bntr ttg paper e. Aku dah deg2an... Langsung mikirin alesan2 yg bisa dipake bwat njawabi pertanyaan2e dee. Abis 2org pertama yg disuru maju, disuru mbaca sebagian dr paper e, trus suru njelasno, knapa koq g nurut aturane dee, koq g nyambung b pertanyaane, dll...

Aku dipanggil ketiga. Begitu nama disebut lgs dag dig dug gitu... Jalan pelan2 ke depan... Guruku masih nunduk ngliatin paper ku sambil dibolak balik. Aku diem di depane mejae. Trus dee liat aku, ngasihno paper e, sambil bilang, "you're good, well done!" trus senyum. Pertamae aku bingung, udah, gitu tok? Trus aku senyum balek. Dee blg "you did a great job!" trus aku balek duduk... Ternyata dapet A!!! Comment e jg cm "wonderful job". Huehehheh... I was so freaking happy at that time..

But then, I realized that this course is graded on the improvement we make throughout the semester. I got a C+/B on my first paper, got a B on my second, and an A on my third. I still have 2 more papers to write. That means if I want an A for the course I'm gonna need to get As on my last two papers too! Damn it!!! Pressure is on, and my rough draft for my fourth paper is terrible!! I can't find good quotations and make connections. Really need to spend more time on this one!!

These people with talent!!

So I was just browsing the web, cos that's all I do... and I found this... [video after the jump]

It's an 11 year old kid, Sungha Jung, playing the theme song of Pirates of the Caribbean. He's just amazing! Makes me wanna play guitar again... but only if I could be as good as he is! LOL

Manchester United 4-3 Hull City

Yeah, we won. But definitely wasn't the best match. Could have done way better than that! I know Hull was 3rd in the table before the match but they're still a newly promoted team, so they can't be THAT good. I guess this thought was also in the players' heads that causes complacency in the 2nd half...

too lazy to write anything :P so... here's a link for a report from ManUtd.com

*NSYNC Flashback - October 1998

"NSYNC spent the beginning of October 1998 in Germany and then returned to the US where they filmed a Disney Holiday concert before spending the last few weeks of the month opening for Janet Jackson's Velvet Rope Tour. I couldn't stomach uploading Christmas footage yet (I'll save it for December) so here are some performances from Germany as well as some clips from an interview with MTV they did while in Orlando. This was during their Hilfiger period, so be sure to enjoy the coordinated outfits and baggy overalls! :)"

Manchester United 2-0 West Ham United

The Red Devils are back on track beating the Hammers by 2 goals at Old Trafford on this midweek fixture. Carlos Tevez gets his first start after a month, facing his former club, while Wayne Rooney who faced his former club last match is dropped to the bench. Birthday boy Edwin van der Sar is given a rest giving Tomasz Kuszczak a first team start.

Celebrating his FIFPro World Footballer of the Year Award, Cristiano Ronaldo grabs both goals inside the half hour mark. Nonetheless, the main talking point of this match would be Dimitar Berbatov's flick that created Ronaldo's second goal. (video after the jump)

The home side started quick and aggressive.Three minutes in and United got their first chance. Nani cut a pass across the goal and Dimi got through but his shot was well blocked by skipper Matthew Upson. United continued the attacks and created many chances but couldn't find the finishing touch. That didn't last long, though.

With United committed a lot of bodies forward, West Ham's defense needed to be on their toes all the time to keep up. In the 14th minute, Nani, from the left, crossed to the middle to Ronaldo, who got away from his marker, and he finished it with his left foot. Ronaldo who was criticized after his last goal for not celebrating, showed his passion this time. Guess he just needed his confidence back and the FIFPro award should do the trick.

Throughout the first half, West Ham had been having trouble with their right defense. Seemed like most of United's meaningful attacks came from that direction. That was also the case when United got their second. Entering the half hour mark, Dimi got the ball forward to the touchline. Right when James Collins thought he had Dimi cornered, he stopped the ball with his left foot, pirouetted and flicked the ball over the challenge with his right. Dimi sent the ball across the six yard box and was met by Ronaldo who tapped it into the empty net.

United kept on creating chances until the halftime whistle. The second half was pretty dull, since the home side was leading comfortably. I didn't watch most of the second half but nothing really happened.

Line up: Kuszczak; Rafael (Neville 82), Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Ronaldo, Fletcher (Carrick 68), Anderson, Nani (Rooney 68); Tevez, Berbatov.
Subs not used: Giggs, Foster, Park, O'Shea.

Look at the team we have! Even the bench itself would get other teams scared.

TRL Countdown

MTV's Total Request Live has begun their countdown towards their big finale last Tuesday, October 21. From last week, they have 3 shows a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and fill them up with - what else? - countdowns. Check their website for the lists.

*NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye grabbed top spot on Top Boy Band Videos, while Justin Timberlake's Like I Love You was third on Top Ten Favorite Debuts (the video premiered #3 in 2002).

Of course, TRL has been a great stepping stone for boybands and other pop artists (or was it the other way around?) So you'd find a lot of JT/*NSYNC mentions there.

All five members of the Backstreet Boys will perform at the big finale. Yes, that includes Kevin. Still hoping that at least some of the *NSYNCers are gonna be there...

What will life be without Sir Alex?

These past 2 days I've been reading articles online about Sir Alex Ferguson retiring as Manchester United's manager after 2 more seasons. He was appointed manager of the club a couple of years before I was even born. As far as I know, United is his team. So what will life at Old Trafford be without him? Is anyone good enough to replace him?

Sir Alex Ferguson has proven himself to be one of the best - if not THE best - football manager of all time. He won 10 trophies within 8 1/2 years of managing Aberdeen, plus 22 major trophies in his 22 years with The Red Devils. He has created successful teams, giving chances to talented young players while building his latest team. His current team now consist of young stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Darren Fletcher, Anderson, Nani, and the Da Silva twins, all under the age of 25. Of course, he has been lucky to have the resources United has, but without his ability to build winning teams, United won't have half as many trophies as they do now.

Fergie has stated that he has no intention of being a manager when he reaches 70. He'll be 67 on December 31st this year, which means he has until 2010 to continue his glorious career. As to appointing his successor, Fergie or Manchester United have commented that they have not think about it. I'm pretty sure they're thinking about it, and thinking hard. How can anyone be good enough to replace a man like him?

Some reports say that Jose Mourinho, former Chelsea manager and current Inter Milan manager, has been interested in this job since he started. The fact that Fergie might retire in 2010, the year when his Inter Milan contract expires, has people assuming that he's the one. Seeing how he was at Chelsea, I really don't Jose to be the manager at United. I really hate the way he talks to the media. He's too self-obsessed, it's always about him. I don't want anyone like that at United. Whoever the next manager will be, United has to be the number one priority to him.

I still can't imagine Old Trafford without Sir Alex. I know the time is getting closer now, but I don't want that to happen...

Sir Alex has built his latest team. The last 2 seasons have been amazing for United. With the young players maturing and developing, whoever replaces Fergie has to know that he's lucky enough to have a strong team to begin his journey at Old Trafford.
