Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United

It's always nice to beat your fierce rivals; it's even better to beat two in under one week. After beating local rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford, Manchester United travels to London to face Arsenal at the Emirates.
United are breathing down Chelsea's necks again after a maiden league win at the Emirates Stadium left Arsenal's title credentials in tatters.

The Reds raced into a 3-0 lead through Manuel Almunia's own goal, Wayne Rooney's 100th Premier League strike and a first notch of the season for Ji-sung Park. And although the Gunners scored late on through Thomas Vermaelen, it was to be no more than a consolation for the hosts in a game that started – and finished – in end-to-end fashion.

House of Blues

Timbaland gave fans way more than their money’s worth when his Shock Value II tour touched down at West Hollywood’s House of Blues Sunset Strip on Friday night (Jan. 29). Drake, Game, Keri Hilson, Brandy, SoShy, and Justin Timberlake all hit the stage for the hottest ticket of Grammy weekend and Rap-Up TV was there to capture it all.
The evening’s special guests got the crowd amped, but no one could outdo Justin Timberlake, who joined Timbo for a 20-minute set of their hits, including “Carry Out,” “SexyBack,” and “My Love.”

Welcome, Smalling!

Manchester United has just signed a new defender, Chris Smalling, from Fulham.

He's only FOUR DAYS older than me! And he's playing for the best club in the world!

Well all I can say for now is welcome to the club, hope you enjoy it here and have a wonderful experience.

Shawn Spencer!!

Finally!! New episode of Psych!!! It's been waaaay too long!! I've missed Shawn so much!

This should be a fun episode (I'm watching it right now)! Shawn is still with Abigail, and Juliet apparently has a brother, who's in the military, played by John Cena, who is visiting Santa Barbara. Shawn is feeling a bit intimidated by big bro O'Hara.

iPad?

I definitely expected a better name, but it's just a name and I'm sure I'm going to get used to it.

#1 Single on iTunes!

Justin's performance of "Hallelujah" with Matt Morris and Charlie Sexton on the Hope for Haiti Now telethon is the number 1 single on iTunes!! It is such a beautiful rendition for the song, and it just shows the talent of Justin and Matt.

Also, J's song with Timbaland, "Carry Out," which I love, is #5.

Congrats, J! And Matt!! #1 single on iTunes isn't too bad, is it?

RDJ day

After such and eventful Saturday, I decided that I would bum out for the whole day on Sunday yesterday. The easiest way to waste the whole day is, of course, by watching movies. Since I'm still obsessed with Mr. Downey, I basically filled the day with him.

I'm with CoCo

It's now set that Conan O'Brien will leave NBC and The Tonight Show and last Friday was his last show. The last week of the show was amazing. The settlement, which gives him $ 33 million and $12 million for his staff (reportedly), makes him unable to have another show at another network until September. Hopefully we'll see him around in the time being, though.

Downey ov3rL0aD

I think this is the first time (after Brad Pitt) that I'm obsessed with a movie star. It has been TV shows and the shows' main characters or Justin Timberlake, but this time it's...different! I just don't understand why it took me so long to finally find Robert Downey Jr.

Hope for Haiti Now

George Clooney decided that he, and his celebrity friends, should raise awareness and money to help the cause in Haiti. Of course, with something this big, everyone got on board. In just a couple days, the number of television networks and celebrities that are participating in Hope for Haiti Now sky-rocketed. Clooney hosted the show in LA, while Wyclef Jean manned New York. CNN's Anderson Cooper was still in Haiti, reporting live from the scene.

Watched the broadcast last night on CNN and it was very touching. Tried calling quite a few times but I never got through. Decided to buy the performances on iTunes (all proceeds go to charity). I have to say I watched it partly because Justin Timberlake was performing (and all my favorite celebrities are going to be there).

Don't want tomorrow to start! :(

After 4 weeks of winter break, I finally got back to Rutgers yesterday afternoon. It wasn't the longest flight but I was so tired when I got here!

Anyways, I only have 9 hours before my first class starts so I better get some sleep. Hopefully this semester won't be too bad. And I can finally get a job!

I love Sherlock Holmes (and Robert Downey Jr.)

I've always thought he was cute, but I've never really appreciated the brilliance of Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man came out and like everyone else, I loved it! But then again, I was more in love with Tony Stark than the actor---he's good looking, knows all the things to say, extremely rich and has a lot of toys!

NBC Late Night Debacle

I'm not gonna spend time to explain what happened, but Mr. O'Brien summarized it pretty well in his statement:

TV news

There's been quite a bit of TV news lately.

Okay, this one is not exactly news but I've been watching ABC'sBetter Off Ted starring Jay Harrington and Portia De Rossi. First heard about it because Portia is Ellen DeGeneres' wife and I always watch her show so I've heard her talk about it. Decided to give it a try (since I ran out of shows to watch). It's a funny show but it's not doing as well as it should. The second season is definitely better than the first so I'm hoping that it would keep on getting better. I just hope it stays on the air as long as it should. (and I want Ted and Veronica to hook up again cos I think those two together are just hilarious).

Found Rivals.com's Prospect Rankings and I looked for those who might go to Rutgers. Out of the 100, only these 3 have Rutgers on their lists, and it's not even in the top of their lists.

The Big Bang Theory

I love geeks (because I think I am one--or at least I should be one, to be good at my field). But the geeks on The Big Bang Theory are just adorable! Well at least Sheldon is! He's annoying, but a genius of his stature has to have something, right?

The show is all about nerds and their super nerdy lives. I love how sciency they get and how I can't understand anything they're talking about. Even though I don't like the fact that the nerd (Leonard) ends up with the hot blonde (Penny), because it's too cliche, I kinda want to see Sheldon and Penny together. Wouldn't happen, I know, because Leonard and Sheldon are best friends, and because Sheldon is just not interested in women, and because the producer said that it wouldn't. But I love this show! And it keeps getting better, unlike most shows that are good in their first season and start sucking! Hope this one stays on the air long enough...

Oh, and I also love their theme song...

House is back!!!

Just watched the new episode of House [6.11] The Down Low. It's been way too long since the last episode! It's still as awesome as always! So basically after the last episode House and Wilson move in together in this new apartment, where everyone thinks they're a gay couple. And of course, House plays along with it. It's so hilarious! Love Hilson!! (I don't even care about Huddy anymore!) It's so amazing how I can get my shows back after the winter break.

Too bad Elsa's TV doesn't have Fox so I can't watch American Idol (which airs now). Would stream it tomorrow. Not like I have anything better to do here...

Dear God #7

Please help me wake up and realize that You are what's real in this world; he's not, and all the other things I want are not, either. I should be wanting and looking for You and Your greatness and understanding Your ways for me.

Earn More Than a Full-Timer: 10 Hot Contract Jobs

Okay, so my dream for now is finishing my undergrad school and collecting my BS in CS degree (lol I still think it's a ridiculous degree to get) and then... travel the world! I would love to be able to get a job, but in this economy, my lack of experience and social skills, that would be harder than...hard. Here's what I found:

Winter Break 2009 (cont'd)

Boxing day, (Didi's birthday! <3) was spent going to the mall so Kim could get a new phone (she lost her phone on Christmas day) and we had to go straight to the airport to catch our flights. My flight is scheduled 30 minutes after Kim's. We got to the airport pretty late; luckily her flight got delayed due to bad weather so she was supposed to be fine. It was taking a while to get her checked in, for some reason. I was flying Virgin America, which was at the other end of the airport so I ran there, not wanting to be late, again.

10 Things Not to Buy in 2010

New college textbooks
Unless a student absolutely needs brand-new textbooks, they can use several alternatives to save.

Shop for used textbooks, which can help you save 70% to 90% off the retail price, says Mike Gatti, the executive director at the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, a trade group. Check out web sites like CheapestTextbooks.com, Booksprice.com or Amazon.com. Many college bookstores also sell used texts.

Another option is downloading books online. Sites like Coursesmart.com sell subscriptions to digital copies of more than 7,000 textbooks. TextbookMedia.com allows students to download textbooks for free. You can also rent textbooks on Chegg.com.

This should be helpful (free downloads for textbooks) especially before the semester starts, even though I've just found that some people have textbooks on DC++, too!

PS - I am a supporter of CDs and I would not stop buying them!
