She was eliminated on tonight's result show. Kinda sad really, cos I thought it would be either Jason or Syesha. I honestly thought Brooke should be in the top 3. But then again, only 5 people were left and she wasn't the best performer. Only 4 remains, the crowning of the 7th American Idol is getting closer...

So.. United will be facing Chelsea in the Champions League final. The first time ever that 2 English teams are facing each other in the biggest championship in Europe, it's gonna be red vs blue. Classic aint it? So it's gonna be battle of Manchester United against Chelsea in both the Premier League and the Champions League..

We're going to Moscow!!

Manchester United are in the final of the European Champions League after beating Barcelona 1-0 at Old Trafford. (the first leg ended 0-0). The anticipation and excitement before the game were high, and the teams didn't disappoint. Manchester United were without Rooney and Vidic due to injuries and most "experts" side on Barca because United didn't have an away goal.

Paul Scholes, the veteran who missed United's ECL final in 1999 through suspension is the one that made sure the team got there. His thunderbolt strike in the 14th minute was the only goal of the match and put United through.

In all, amazing match. Sir Alex got his tactics right. Everyone played well and worked hard. United is in the final after 9 years. WE ARE GOING TO MOSCOW!!

The atmosphere at OT was great too! Fergie and the players had asked for this and the fans delivered their part. There are so many things I wanna say right now but I'm just too excited about the fact that we're in the final!!

PFA Team of the Year

Along with the award that Ronaldo received, the PFA also named their team of the year. (Let me remind you that United had 8 of the 11 players chosen for last season's team)

Here's the team for this year:
David James (Portsmouth); Bacary Sagna (Arsenal), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United), Gael Clichy (Arsenal); Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Ashley Young (Aston Villa); Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal), Fernando Torres (Liverpool).

I don't understand how David James is in there. He's been pretty good this season but I can name some goalkeepers better than him. And also Steven Gerrard. He didn't deserve to be there last year, and not this year either. Anderson would be a better choice there! But I guess after last year's they can't really give United too many spots in the team. Rio and Vida in there just show how great our defense is.

Ronaldo named PFA Player of the Year (AGAIN)

Yep! He's the man of the year according to PFA. Cristiano Ronaldo retained the title for the second successive year. The award ceremony was held on Sunday but Ronaldo wasn't present. They showed a video footage of Ronaldo giving an acceptance speech. The video contains Ronaldo receiving the award from the boss Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United's training ground at Carrington. Surely they did not attend because the very important match against Barcelona in the Champions League semi final is only two days away.

Ronaldo was voted best among other players in the Premier League including Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard of Liverpool, Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor, and Portsmouth goalkeeper David James. Fabregas (Arsenal) snagged the award for PFA Young Player of the Year which was also won by Ronaldo in the previous year.

The award makes Ronaldo the second player to win the PFA award in two successive years since its inception in 1974. Ironically, he'll come face to face with the first man to do it on Tuesday when Thierry Henry (2003, 2004, then of Arsenal) lines up for Barcelona.

Another amazing year for the man and the club. Surely he deserves the award more than anyone. But I don't get how you can become the player of the year but not the young player of the year... LOL

Congrats Ron! The season's almost over but I'd want to look forward to next season as well, hoping for another "POTY" performance!!

Kimi Raikkonen

Well I haven't been following the F1 world since I got here but I just remembered that they had a race and hell yeah! Kimi took pole after Saturday's qualifiers, and won the race without contest! What's even better? Massa started 3rd and stole a position from Lewis Hamilton! Yeah!!

Kimi is now 1st on the driver's championship with 29 points, ahead of Hamilton (20). Massa jumps to 4th place with 18 points. Ferrari is sitting comfortably at the top of the constructor's championship wiht 47 points.

I'm in a pretty bad mood this weekend. Hasn't been fun. I don't feel like doing anything but I have my final draft of my final paper due tomorrow and Computer Science homework is due tomorrow night too! Wish I could enjoy weekends more! Hopefully tonight's episode of Desperate Housewives will cheer me up a bit.

Last week of classes starting tomorrow, I'd try to go to all my classes. (esp Calc!) Damn, finals is coming up and I really need to study... Why can't I just be a genius, do nothing and still get good grades??

OMG!!!

I LOVED the new GA episode!!! Miss the cast so much!! Damn... That was good. Couldn't care less bout UG cos I was too excited bout Grey's! The residents had a 2-weeks competition thing and Mer won at the end. Derek and Rose are still going out but apparently it's gonna end pretty soon. There was a bear attack so one of the guys had his intestines out of his body - literally. The other one had holes in his hand cos the bear clawed in. The girl had a part of her scalp torn and she didn't even realize that.

Next week is gonna be so much better! Cos Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery will be back!! :) [and I think Derek is gonna be 'available' again and Ava/Rebecca/Jane Doe is back and she's pregnant]

Barcelona 0-0 Manchester United

Well it wasn't bad. So bummed that Ronnie missed a penalty kick at the 2nd minute of the match but overall it was okay. Barca controlled the possession (65%-35%) but they couldn't really break through United's wall. 6 days until they come to Old Trafford. LETS WIN THIS UNITED!!

Trapped for 41 hours in an elevator

This thing happened in 1999 in New York but the video just got popular recently. The guy's name is Nicholas White. He went out for a smoke and when he was about to go back up the McGraw-Hill building, it happened.



Dunno how he got through the whole time, big props to him! This footage is of a security camera, how could they not notice a man trapped for almost 2 days there?! As you watch the video you can see that when he tried to open the car door there was a brick wall right in front of him, so he couldn't go anywhere... I would have gone crazy after the first 5 minutes!

Manchester United didn't have the best game on Saturday, but neither did their next opponent, Barcelona. United managed to get a point after Tevez's equalizer at the 88th minute against Blackburn Rovers, while Barca were held at a goalless draw against local rivals Espanyol. They opted to rest Messi and Iniesta and saw the team slip 11 points (3rd place) behind the leaders of La Liga, Real Madrid.

A sad time...

Cameron Diaz has just lost her father Emilio Diaz, 58, of pneumonia on Tuesday morning. Their family held a memorial service on Sunday. The service was more like a party, only a few people wear black and the rest wore colorful Hawaiian shirt. Her ex Justin Timberlake is one of the attendees. JT arrived at 1.30 pm and stayed until around 4 pm when everybody started leaving.

Paparazzi actually stalked them in such time and managed to get a few pics of him (and another Diaz ex, John Mayer) arriving at the site. I think it's very rude of them to do such a thing so I won't be posting the pics.

My condolences to the Diaz family.

Blackburn 1-1 Manchester United

Yeah, not the best outcome, I would have wanted a better one. But it is Blackburn Rovers and we have to remember that they've never been an easy 3 points for us. Look at it as a 1 point gain rather than a 2 points loss.

That definitely wasn't the best performance by the team but at this stage every single point is crucial. Thanks to Tevez here to salvage us one. Scored again at the 88th minute to cancel Blackburn's lead.

Rob Styles was the ref of the match so as expected he was the biggest piece of sh*t on footballing history. 4 penalty appeals and he turned down each one. The last one was the worst, a clear handball in the box and he just literally ignored it! I used to get all worked up after a game with him in charge but now it's just sad. It makes the FA look bad actually.

Rooney got fouled pretty hard and he was in pain for a while. He'll be fine for Wednesday's match at Barca, fortunately. Van der Sar wasn't in the squad due to a slight groin injury, but is expected to be fit for Barca too.

A very tough week is ahead. The whole season will all come down to the next 9 days. Beating Chelsea next week will probably mean we're champions. Not mathematically of course but with around 20 goals difference advantage it's pretty obvious. Unless Chelsea pay their opponents in the last 2 matches to let in 10 goals each then they'd have a chance.

Vidic is fit and ready for battle!! Yeah, definitely a huge boost for United. Though Pique has been doing his job well filling in the spot. Maybe he'd come on as a sub for Blackburn? Cos after that we have the crucial 6 days. (Barca (A), Chelsea (A), Barca (H))

2 more wins for the title, let's do this boys! Beat Blackburn on Sunday and take the title at the Bridge on the 26th!!

Done with Calc exam #2!!! So happy that I'm through with it, not so happy bout how I did. Doesn't matter though!!! :D

The weather is so nice today!!! It's like almost 80ºF outside!!! Wanna go out and just enjoy the weekend!!! (then I'd have to write a paper and do my computer science homework and do calc homework....)

The shows are back!

Just finished watching a new episode of Desperate Housewives. As funny as it was before and I loved it! Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy will be back next Thursday so I might be watching the last few episodes again. I think all of them will be done before I'm going back home so it's gonna be perfect!

United for the title!

That's Hargreaves' free kick that won us the match, and a hand at the cup. Now with only 4 games to go, 6 points clear of 2nd place Chelsea and 9 points off Arsenal on 3rd, we're definitely on course for the title. The momentum is right for us too. A momentarily slip at Middlesbrough last time but it was expected wasn't it? Boro has always been a banana skin for us.

Back to the Gunners match. It was an AMAZING match! Guess that's how a United vs Arsenal match should be. Honestly I think Arsenal owned the midfield in the first half. Both teams had their fair chances and they attacked both ends one after the other. It was really an exciting match. I would have jumped up and down if I was alone in the room lol.

2nd half started as they left the first. Attacking both ends right away. Unfortunately the Gunners got the first break, through Adebayor...and his arm. It was a handball but I can't blame the ref for not seeing that cos he didn't have replays. Doesn't matter though cos it is Arsenal and they gave away a stupid penalty right after scoring. It was another handball but at the other end, and this time the ref sees it. Of course we have Ronaldo to take it. A man like him, stands above any pressure applied. He was made to retake the kick and for the 2nd time he blasted it past Lehmann. With Stretford End right behind the goal, all eyes on him, he loved it didn't he?

At 1-1, it's like we're doing Chelsea a favor. But of course United showed their champions mentality and struck back. In an even game as it was it could have gone either way but we got a freekick and Hargreaves stepped in. Beautiful curl to the bottom left of the goal, Lehmann had no chances. Arsenal kept fighting back, especially at the last minutes. Van Der Sar stood strong in front of United's goal and kept us the 3 points. One hand at the cup, 2 more wins and we get to lift it up high at Old Trafford again.

So I was browsing YouTube looking for a couple of vids of Justin.. but I found another (way younger) Justin that really caught my eye. So here's the vid I saw first:

Rutgers break world record!

So Rutgers' ResLife had an idea to break a record. The record they chose to break? Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Ninja Turtles. The previous record was 200 people. So they gathered Rutgers University students to the Activity Center, giving away free pizza, long sleeve T-Shirts, and masks. The total of 748 people showed up, and they even had to turn away about 100 more people because they ran out of costumes.



I should have went!!! It seemed like so much fun! And you get to be a part in history... LOL

Fall 2008

Gonna have to register for next semester's classes on Tuesday so I started looking at the schedules and everything. I really don't know what I'm gonna do!!
The classes I have in mind right now are Gen Psych (830:101), Data Structures (198:112), Intro to Discrete Structures I (198:205), Linear Algebra (640:250), and a writing class.

Gotta make up my mind, FAST!

Staying at my aunt's place for the weekend... (woo hoo! :P) away from crappy food and all that for at least 2 days. Been here only for an hour and already enjoying this. Haven't been here since January winter break...

Roddick is getting MARRIED?!?!

I took a look at Yahoo and found out that according to his website, Andy Roddick had proposed to his 20-year old model girlfriend.. I think her name is Brooklyn something. FO REAL?!

Haven't seen or heard of him in a while and now he shows up getting married?!?!
