Manchester United news

Manchester United had finished their 2009 Asia Tour winning all four games. The team's performance was good enough, especially for preseason matches. The players seemed quite fit and that's the important thing. And no injuries suffered during the whole tour, which is always a plus.

Right after the Asia Tour, United went straight to the Audi Cup in Munich. Boca Juniors, Bayern Munich and AC Milan are the other participants of the preseason competition.

First match, Manchester United played Boca Juniors. United played with their younger players. Tomasz Kuszczak tends the goal while Craig Cathcart gets to play next to Wes Brown in the center of defense. Last season's rising star Federico Macheda and Wayne Rooney lead United's attack.

Anderson finally scored his first United goal. Fans have waited patiently for the past two seasons, and he had hit the post quite a few times. Just couldn't get the back of the net yet. And what a goal that was! Amazing free kick from the right flank: hit straight the the top far corner of the goal! Antonio Valencia wouldn't ask for a better debut than what he had. He was anonymous in the first 20 minutes but since then, he contributed in every United attack. Valencia also struck a nice goal bringing the English champions 2-0 up until half time. United didn't have the best second half and Boca Juniors managed to get a goal back. The score stayed 2-1 until the end of the match; United is in the final.

The final is between Manchester United and host Bayern Munich (who beat AC Milan 4-1 in the previous match). Sir Alex Ferguson decided to play more first team players in this match, with veterans Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes manning the midfield. Michael Owen partners Dimitar Berbatov up front. Darren Fletcher is forced to play right back since all our available right backs are not fit to play. Manchester United also introduced their new away kit for the 2009/2010 season. Loving the new sets of kits!

[new away kit]

The first half didn't show the real United quality. Fletcher seemed confused at what to do and he stayed too far up than where he should have been. Bayern had a few chances exploiting Fletcher's lack of experience as a right back and United was lucky to not have conceded. The first 45 minutes ended in 0-0; Sir Alex should be glad about that. The start of the second half saw the visitors improving. United had more control of the possession and created a couple chances. However, neither team were able to find the goal and the match went to penalty shoot outs. United goes first: Giggs in, Anderson in, Nani in, Evra blocked, Rooney in, going into sudden death, Fletcher in, Scholes BARELY in, Evans blocked, and Edwin failed to save the last penalty. Host Bayern Munich wins the cup (honestly though, they might have the best penalty taking team!)

Next up, last preseason game, Valencia at Old Trafford!

Schumacher for Massa?

First of all, I hope Massa isn't too badly injured. Latest reports say he's conscious now but still in the hospital. He'd be out for the rest of the season to focus on his health. There are reports that he might retire early because of this accident. I really hope that's not true because he's been great.
[Massa's Ferrari being lifted off the track after the crash]

Ferrari is currently looking for a replacement for Massa. And apparently legend Michael Schumacher is leading the race. I'm not quite sure if it's official yet but a lot of people seem to think so. The last article that I read said that he would consider it if Ferrari offers him the seat. That would be awesome, having Schumi back on Ferrari's cars. He's still actively supporting Ferrari behind the scenes (not sure what he does exactly but he's always there).

Get well soon, Massa!

Just a little bit of 'me'

So I finally got back home last night. Jakarta was a lot of fun. I actually miss all of them already even Coffee and Max. I really hope they'd come to Surabaya before the end of summer break...

Surprisingly I wasn't all that upset that Manchester United canceled their trip here. I was actually more upset that I couldn't go anywhere that weekend. I thought I would go shopping while I was there but I didn't really shop much. A couple things that I went there to get were actually not there (the classic Converse shoes and Plain White T's "Big Bad World"). Di Surabaya cari Converse yang classic di mana yah??

Speaking of Manchester United. I think their new jersey looks pretty damn good. I WANT ONE!!!!!! I want a Giggs one if I could afford it. Michael Owen is doing pretty well so far, which is great. Can't wait til I can actually watch a match, it's been too long since I watched a Man Utd match!

I was a little pissed off because of the ticket thing. I was probably mad at the wrong person and for the wrong reason... It's not like I was in a hurry to go home cos I was really enjoying my time there, but it just pissed me off...

I think after watching Fast and Furious, I was a little bit obsessed with Paul Walker. I managed to watch the first two movies again (more than once actually) and I loooove Brian O'Conner's Nissan Skyline! Both of them! I know nothing about cars but they just look cool... (and the colour's blue!) Of course, until now I still have multiple tabs of YouTube open, even though I'm trying to move on (or back) to Michael Vartan now that he's in a new TV show.

Anyways, going out to get dinner (hopefully soon cos I'm starving). A couple of my friends are going back to Malaysia in 2 days :(

Some AC quotes

Some quotations taken from Mr. Anderson Hays Cooper himself...

Hope is not a plan.

We all dangle from a delicate thread. The key is not to let go.

Going gray is like ejaculating. You know it can happen prematurely, but when it actually does, it's a total shock.

I used to think there was nothing worse than imagining your own parents having sex. I was wrong. You know what's worse? Learning your parents sex life is more interesting than your own.

Dear God #2

I really don't get the reasoning behind the things that happened in the last few days. Why exactly did they have to happen? I know it's nothing compared to what other people are going through but I just don't get it. If they are supposed to teach me something I need someone to tell me what it is I'm supposed to learn. I know all these happen according to Your greater plan for all of us; forgive me for my frustration these past few days.

United cancel game after blasts

Manchester United have called off the Indonesian leg of their Far East tour following two bomb blasts at tourist hotels in Jakarta.

United arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Friday morning to news of the explosions in the Indonesian capital, one of which took place at the Ritz-Carlton, the hotel the Red Devils were to be staying at for four nights from Saturday.

After seeking advice from various parties, including the Foreign Office, Sir Alex Ferguson's side confirmed they would not be flying to Jakarta.
"Following the explosions in Jakarta - one of which was at the hotel the team were due to stay in - and based on advice received, the directors have informed the Indonesian FA that the club cannot fulfil the fixture in Jakarta on the 2009 Asia tour," said a club statement.

United were to play an Indonesia Super League XI on 20th July.

The match had been a 100,000 sell-out. The club must now decide how to reorganise the tour.

"We are working on a revised itinerary outside Indonesia with the promoters and we will make a further announcement when these decisions have been made," continued the statement.

"We are deeply disappointed at not being able to visit Indonesia and thank the Indonesian FA and our fans for their support.

"Our thoughts go to all those affected by the blasts."

As expected, they're staying away from this place. A wise decision I guess. And I'm sure I'm more disappointed than anyone in Manchester United about this. But don't worry, I would definitely watch United live from the stadium one day... Old Trafford, wait for my arrival!

Stupid idiotic assholes

I'm currently watching the news about the bombings in Jakarta. The first one was at JW Mariott hotel, and about five minutes later another bomb blew up at Ritz Carlton hotel. Both blasts reportedly killed 8 people so far (plus tens of people injured). The Ritz Carlton is the hotel where the Manchester United players were supposed to be staying. Guess they wouldn't come anywhere near this place now....

A third bomb, a car bomb, killed another 2 people. I heard that there are actually eight bombs scattered around the city today. One person was caught with a bomb strapped to his body trying to get inside one of the new malls.

I still don't get the reason behind these bombings. I don't know what the terrorists get by bombing random places. They say they're against tourists from Western countries but most of the time they kill more of their own countrymen than tourists. The economy was said to be getting slightly better in the last 2-3 days and they do this now? How stupid us human beings can get is beyond my intelligence...

If United are still coming I know I'd go watch them (even if my parents wouldn't let me). But I know God won't let that happen. If it's either watch United and be so freaking happy or get upset but safe, I'm sure God wants me to be safe...right? Old Trafford, I'm coming!!...sooner or later...

Too bad 2 of them are in the same category so he could only win 2. I really want him to win Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series for his hosting SNL, because he was hilarious! People have to realize how good he is! And for the other category, I still don't know which one (of the two) I'd want to win because "Motherlover" is just another genius move from Justin and Andy Samberg. "D*** In A Box" was amazing but "Motherlover" was not bad of a sequel. However, "I Love Sports" was amazing when Justin performed it. I just hope he wins both categories...

Some other categories where I have my picks for the winners:

Ryan Seacrest - Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program
Hugh Laurie - Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series
House - Outstanding Drama Series
American Idol - Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List - Outstanding Reality Program

Good luck, all!

I <3 Matty

Watched a couple of movies in the last two days.
The first movie was some random movie that Om Robert was watching. It was an okay movie but I just don't like the way it was shot. And the story wasn't that good...

After that we watched 17 Again. It's Matthew Perry but I wasn't gonna watch it cos I know it's mostly Zac Efron. But I'm glad I watched it because the few minutes Matty was on he was so freaking cute!! And during the credits we got to see a picture of young Matty which looked adorable!! (man I miss S60 and F.R.I.E.N.D.S)

Then I watched Fast and Furious. The audio quality of the DVD wasn't that good but the movie was still pretty cool. AND PAUL WALKER IS SO HOT!! I really wanna watch the first movies again now! I haven't watched Tokyo Drift but apparently it's the continuation of this fourth one (is it??). I'm gonna watch it when I get home cos I have the DVD at home (since last year) but haven't watched it. Love all the cool cars that they showed. And I LOOOVE it when Brian was told to go to the race and how excited he was when he was shown the cars that he could pick from. I am currently obsessed with watching Paul videos on YouTube... He's funny!

Last movie I watched was Star Trek today. It was pretty cool, and I really like Sylar (forgot his real name). I've never watched Star Trek before so I had no idea what it was about. I get it a little bit. It was a cool movie...

Hope I could watch some other good movies these next few days...

Richest Celebs under 30

Forbes made this year's list of richest celebrities under the age of 30 and here are the top 12:
1. Beyonce Knowles, 27 - $87 million
2. Kimi Raikkonen, 29 - $45 million
3. LeBron James, 24 - $40 million
4. Britney Spears, 27 - $35 million
5. Roger Federer, 27 - $33 million
6. Ronaldinho, 29 - $30 million
7. Miley Cyrus, 16 - $25 million
8. Jonas Brothers, 16, 19 and 21 - $25 million
9. Daniel Radcliffe, 19 - $25 million
10. Gisele Bundchen, 28 - $25 million
11. Maria Sharapova, 22 - $22 million
12. Taylor Swift, 19 - $18 million

The top 12 has the average age of just 23 and earned $410 million in the past year. The full article can be found here.

yay for Kimi at #2!! He hasn't had a great season by any standard but he's still doing well financially. And I don't think it's fair that the Jonas Brothers are on the list because they're actually 3 people and not 1!! They should divide their earnings by 3 and see them fall off the list! (or I just really don't like them and the less I see of them the better)

I am disappointed that Justin is not in the list but he has been taking a break after his last tour in 2007 so it is understandable that he is not earning as much as he usually does.

Nice job, Roddick!

So that douche ended up winning but I don't give a shit. Andy Roddick play so freaking well! People didn't expect him to be in the final (I actually thought he had already lost because everyone wouldn't stop talking about RF like he had already won). Everyone wrote him off even before the game started. Prove all the haters wrong! You did exceptionally well, Andy! Proud to have supported you today! Keep up the good job. There's always another time to make the douche cry.

Shouldn't I feel something??

I was so excited when I heard about this, and now it's getting closer but I don't feel a damn thing. I'm going to Jakarta tomorrow (tapi masih blom toto2, males pol!!) and I'm gonna be watching a live Manchester United match on the 20th. I know it's not a big match and it's only pre season so it's only for fun (and introducing their new players and getting their fitness level up) so they won't take it seriously but it's UNITED!!! Shouldn't I be so freaking excited by now?

Once a Red always a Red!

Found this pic on Facebook's MUG. LOVE IT!!

The pic was taken after Everton beat Man Utd on the FA Cup semi final on penalties. I'm imagining big bro Gary Neville staring at poor Phil so he wouldn't celebrate.

We still love you Phil!

Welcome Michael Owen!

posing in the new kit

Here's the article from the official website:

Owen joins United

Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has signed Michael Owen on a two-year contract. The striker was out of contract, so no transfer fee is involved.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Michael is a world class forward with a proven goalscoring record at the highest level and that has never been in question. Coming to Manchester United with the expectations that we have is something that Michael will relish.”

Michael Owen said: "I had just begun to talk to other clubs when out of the blue Sir Alex phoned me on Wednesday afternoon, invited me to have breakfast with him the next morning during which he told me that he wanted to sign me. I agreed without a moment's thought.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I intend to seize it with both hands. I am now looking forward to being a Manchester United player and I am fortunate that I already know so many of the players here. I missed pre-season last year and am pleased that I will be starting at Carrington from day one.

"I want to thank Sir Alex for the faith he has shown in me and I give him my assurance that I will repay him with my goals and performances.”

signing the papers with David Gill
I am skeptical about this latest move by Sir Alex Ferguson. Michael Owen hasn't been seen in the last 4 years and he suddenly shows up in Carrington, having a talk with the Manchester United's manager. Couldn't be any faster, the former English international player had a medical test and was signed. I know Ferguson likes to gamble on player transfer but this one was a huge shock.

I would have loved this move if it were 4 years ago, before Owen went missing in Newcastle. However, I would have hated him if his injuries came like they did. Hopefully he'd be injury free and do well alongside Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov, United's current strikers.

I am still disappointed though; we lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, and we only got Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen (so far). Hopefully this is not it for us this transfer window.

Back home...

Abis dari Bali akirnya balik rumah jga. Bali was fun. Got sunburnt, but it wasn't that bad... lol (my parents were a little concerned but I didn't care a bit).

It was great seeing everyone and having everyone together. But it was so hard to go anywhere and keep all 20 people happy. They all had places they wanted to go (which were all different).

I have 3 days with my friends here and I'd be leaving for Jakarta on Sunday (and United on the 20th!!)
