Dear God #9

Remember back during Christmas of last year when I said that all I wanted was a job offer? I really meant that; and I got one right before Christmas, and then I also got to have an amazing winter break! You've given me so much but I'm still asking for more! I was happy with the job offer that I got. I may have said some things that made it less desirable but it was a job offer in Software Development. I got something that I wanted and I didn't even try too hard. The interview process went smooth and everyone involved made it easy.

But then You gave me more and even bigger opportunities. Even though I do all these phone interviews with any company that contacted me, I never thought that I would actually make it through; at least not with these "big" companies. But here I am, preparing myself to go to Google's New York office this Friday, and to Seattle for Amazon next Friday. I still don't know how I deserved the first job offer that I got, but I really appreciate the opportunities that are open to me. So I'm (still) asking, God, please let me do well enough in these interview that I would get job offers from them! I'm not appreciating the first one any less; there are a lot of people looking for jobs and somehow I got one. I am sure it was a gift from You. But Google and Amazon are amazing opportunities in the sense that they have a lot of different areas of Software Development/Engineering that I can get into and I would really appreciate to be able to have that.

TwoP: Seven Things We Didn't Know About Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Well I've ordered my copy and Amazon shipped it on Sunday. Hopefully it gets here by tomorrow because Wednesdays are the only time I can go pick up mail! Anyways, I stole this article from here:

It's been almost three years, but we still can't stop thinking about Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Joss Whedon's groundbreaking musical supervillain web series. Granted, that may be partially because Whedon's follow-up, Dollhouse, failed to set the world on fire, but Horrible was still unlike anything we'd seen before, and had great performances from Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion in the lead roles. A book about the show, complete with scripts and music, hit stores today, and we snagged ourselves a copy, only to find a plethora of factoids that delighted our Horribleness-craving eyes. They're not earth-shakers, like that the series was filmed in Esperanto and dubbed into English or anything, but they're fun and cute, just like the show itself. Read on, for seven of the most Hammertastic.

Sample tweet: "Excited for my 1st Grammys! What should I wear? I'm thinking a black tux with that metal robot headpiece will.i.am wore at the Super Bowl."

He may play overconfident on How I Met Your Mother, but Neil Patrick Harris proves he's nothing if not a nice guy on his Twitter account. The new father gets personal on his account, tweeting about parenthood, his acting projects and life in the public eye. He gives more than 1 million followers a dose of his trademark self-deprecating wit

Blastr.com: 14 sci-fi actors we'd watch in ANYTHING

Saw this:
Followed the link, then stole this from the link:

There are some people who act as sort of entertainment pied pipers: Something just makes us follow them from project to project, occasionally getting us to watch stuff we never would otherwise. Here are some of our favorites: heroes, villains, Whedonverse alums and deserted-island survivors.

TV Line: Community Showers Cougar Town With Love

The Community-Cougar Town mutual admiration society was taken to a whole new level Thursday when NBC’s genre-bending sitcom once again broke convention and gave a shout-out — make that 12! — to its ABC counterpart. Which begs the question: How in the world did Community‘s Powers That Be get this cross-network lovefest past the Peacock bigwigs?

In case you missed it, this week’s episode showcased a subdued Abed (played by the incomparable Danny Pudi) relaying his personal journey through the world of Cougar Town fandom to Jeff (Joel McHale). The tale included name-dropping the series roughly a dozen times and even mentioning its star Courteney Cox by name. And this isn’t the first time the two programs have shown a little affection for the other. Abed declared his love for C.T. at least twice in the past, and C.T. has reciprocated.

The 50 Greatest World Football Club Teams of All Time

Taken from here. I don't completely agree with the list, and they could have written it better. But I'm not gonna argue with #1!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every season there are great teams in world football. It's just a fact of life in the modern game; someone is always doing something big, with a superb level of talent.

But, every once in a while, a team comes along who is truly special. Their play is something to behold, their accomplishments and trophies become the stuff of legends, their names will undoubtedly be etched in the annals of history.

These are the teams we're interested in. The sides that are still spoken of in reverent tones, those whose talent has placed them on hallowed ground as one of the 50 greatest club teams in world football history.

We're focusing solely on club teams and on specific years whenever possible, breaking down the greatest teams the football world has ever seen.

So, lace up your cleats, grab your Lisbon Lions scarf and Man U treble memorial kit and let's get started, shall we?

Did Courteney Cox Want More Friends? "I Wish We Hadn't Stopped"

Courteney Cox on Friends:
"Ten's a long time, but I wish we hadn't stopped," Cox said referring to Friends. "It would've been nice to do 11."

What could they have done? "Oh my gosh. I don't know, but I was watching an episode the other and day and it still holds up! Just holds up!"

Perhaps it's time for that Friends movie.

Jewel Staite: What Nathan Fillion stole from the set of Firefly

Jewel posted on Blastr.com answering a few fan questions.
5. What kind of mementos have you stolen I mean forgot to give back from the shows you've worked on?
Now, listen. I'm an honest kind of girl. I've only taken the things that have been so graciously given to me.... by other people that have stolen them. Like Nathan Fillion. (The irony that he's playing a guy who helps cops right now is not lost on me.) I had some lovely things from Firefly, such as my "Kaylee's Room" door sign, my hammock from the engine room, some Alliance money, and one pink bra I swear I forgot to give back to the wardrobe department. Most of these things have since been given away to charity auctions, except for the bra. Because that would be weird. And also because I can't find it, and I'm scared to look in Nathan's underwear drawer. Sadly, nothing came back with me from Stargate: Atlantis, except for Paul, who's still on the couch. He says hi.

EW.com: 26 Great TV Season Finales

Here are the shows that I watch:

Mad Men

Ch-ch-ch-changes, Season 3
We'd gotten so comfy in the offices of Sterling Cooper that the finale decision to form a breakaway agency, Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, felt downright revolutionary. Combine it with Don and Betty separating, and it was clear that the future of every main character was suddenly unclear. —KT

Alias

Two Years Gone, Season 2
J.J. Abrams gets props for his jaw-dropping cliff-hangers on Lost, but he perfected the art of the season-ending mind blitz on the less popular (but equally as compelling) Alias. In the final act of season 2, spy girl Syd's world gets rocked: Her best bud Will might be dead, her best girl Francie is actually an evil clone, and there's the small matter of two missing years. Not to mention a smokin' hot Vaughn sporting a mysterious wedding band. You'll be hit so hard with the Alias title card it'll give you whiplash. —GH

Manchester United 1-0 Bolton Wanderers

[Dimitar Berbatov]

Didn't watch the game but from what I've read, it was another one of those play average, steal 3 points games. Sir Alex Ferguson 5-game touchline ban started so he was high up at the stands. Javier Hernandez was picked ahead of Dimitar Berbatov again, 5th time out of 6 games. I'm a little bit worried; a player like Berbatov wouldn't like just sitting on the bench; so when the lineup was posted I really really hoped that he'd get a decent playing time. And he did. He came in for Chicharito at half time (along with Fabio for Wes Brown) and ended up scoring the only goal. Massive win for us, especially with Arsenal drawing 2-2 at West Brom (after being 2 down). Not just the points, but after knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup, this win is a huge morale boost for our team, while theirs might be drained.

Let's all laugh at City!

They're knocked out of the Europa League, making them closer to that 35 years! And then I came across this:

Dude...Seriously...

White Collar season 3 premier date

Can't. Wait!

NBC renews Community!!

MARCH 17, 2011 12:45 PM PDT

Breaking: NBC Renews The Office, Community and Parks and Recreation

"I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively," said NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt.

"Along with [the already-renewed] 30 Rock, they represent the best of what the NBC comedy brand stands for in terms of originality, wit, and sophistication. The Office continues to fire on all cylinders on the most competitive night of television Parks and Recreation has come into its own this season as the rightful companion to The Office; and Community is one of the freshest comedies on any network and a solid foundation for Thursday night." It looks like some of that Irish luck is rubbing off on our favorite Greendale/Pawnee peeps today: NBC has renewed bubble comedies Community and Parks and Recreation for a third and fourth season respectively. In less surprising news, the Peacock has also picked up The Office for an eighth season — its first without Steve Carell.
Stolen from here. Well it wasn't the biggest surprise, they have been strong this season. And I just realized that I'm wearing my Greendale Community College t-shirt right now! :)

Now I'm waiting for Chuck!

Corning: A Day Made of Glass

This is just very, very cool! I mean, I was very impressed with the Savant Experience (well that's already real) and it's somewhat my dream to built something like that in my home. I say somewhat because it'd probably a while since I can actually own my own place and not just renting a tiny apartment and even then I don't know if I have enough money to buy all the stuff.

But this is really something else!

New Friends with Benefits trailer

This is the green band trailer that's gonna be playing at theaters.

Can't wait! I heart Mila, and I really really heart Justin. And I can't say no to rom-coms!! Especially when it has lots of shirtless Justin <3

Manchester United 2-1 Marseille

And we're through to the last 8!!

[Chicharito with two goals for the night]
I've always hated the away goals rule. I've always preferred going away first and then coming home for the second leg, but it's always nerve-wracking going home after a 0-0 draw. Well Chicharito's two goals proved crucial as Marseille clawed one back in the last 10 minutes. It was yet one of those games where it got really nervy at the end. If we concede, it's over for us. These types of games, I hate watching live because I get too nervous, but it makes you feel that much better when it's over and you're through.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog: The Book

It's available for pre-order at Amazon.com. It's going to be released on March 29th. I'm definitely gonna get one!! :D

WTF?! LOL

Whatever this is, whatever it was for, LOL!

The Hottie Body Jim-Miracle Diet

I heart NPH. And him reading Jimmy's line was just too cute!

"Hi! I'm a real doctor!" xD

If it weren't for NPH, I'd say the first one was better. But nothing – NOTHING – beats the Handsome Men's Club!

Maybe I'm just saying that because the diet thing was full of hot girls while the club was full of handsome men... :P (also might be the reason why NPH made everything better in the world full of hot women).

Spoilers!

Emeline: Psych?
Psych rules. The writers are planning an episode called "This Episode Sucks" where "Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) falls hard for a woman he meets in a bar—who may turn out to be a vampire that drains her victims of blood," and they're looking for someone to play a character named "Thorn" who has "platinum hair, earrings and a British accent." Awww…James Marsters' Spike was an iconic character, wasn't he?

KimLVHart: White Collar scoop would be much appreciated!
We'll be meeting Neal's parents next season! They haven't cast anyone yet, but Matt Bomer is putting out an APB for anyone interested in playing his mom and dad. Ideas?

SadieJezierski: Chuck!
Sarah's bachelorette party will feature a male stripper disguised as a enemy commando. Wackiness ensues. Also, um…ick.

sarahjones85: Anything you have on Castle would be great!
Are you a "shipper" type? Then you will love the March 21 episode of Castle. But not because Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) run off and get married or anything. While Castle and Beckett are investigating the death of a soap opera writer, there are tons of conversations on how crazy "shippers" can be and how invested fans are with their favorite TV relationships. It's hilarious, unless you are as crazy as the "shipper" in the episode is. In which case…seek help.

fannie13: News about Castle please!Next week's episode will have one of the most dramatic and theatric arrests ever made on the show. But stay tuned in after the handcuffs are snapped on, because Castle and Beckett have a sweet little moment that will surely leave you smiling.

I'm very excited about the Psych one! Too bad it's still a long wait from now!

And meeting Neal's parents?! Yes, please!

Happy Pi Day!! :D

I'm having apple pie with Tante Philia and fam to celebrate! :]

Fergie waits on Hargreaves

Sir Alex Ferguson is playing a 'wait and see' game as regards Owen Hargreaves' potential impact on Manchester United's run in.

The holding midfielder lasted just 10 minutes of his seasonal reappearance in November in the 2-1 win over Wolves, when he picked up a hamstring injury.

The 30-year-old was making his first start in over two years following surgery on both knees to cure a serious tendinitis problem.

After the latest injury, Hargreaves, who signed from Bayern Munich in 2007, returned to Germany for treatment but is now set to restart training on Monday.

But Ferguson does not know if he will be able to make an impact for the Red Devils at the business end of this season.
Click here for the rest of the article.

I really hope he'd be back before the end of the season and with some miracle get a contract extension for another year. He's too good a player to go out like this!

Jimmy Fallon Reveals Secrets Behind the Best 'Late Night' Sketches

An entire evening was devoted to former Saturday Night Live regular and current late-night host Jimmy Fallon at PaleyFest and it was, to date, the most entertaining session of the festival.

Moderator Chris Hardwick (host of Web Soup), set the tone early when he joked that it was his duty to "steer this ship into Awesometown." It's that type of geekiness (which Fallon wholly embraces) that would run through the night.

It is easy to see why people clamor on to Fallon's fun-loving humor. More than two years after he took the reins from Conan O'Brien, who was preparing for what would turn out to be a brief run as the Tonight Show host, Fallon has carved out an hour of late-night TV that David Letterman or Jay Leno aren't doing: beer pong with Betty White, spoofing vampires with Suckers, singing the "History of Rap" with Justin Timberlake and parodying Lost with Late. Who else can pull that stuff off -- and make them viral hits?

CNN: Our top 10 techie characters from the movies

When the South by Southwest Festival kicks off today in Austin, Texas, the cutting edges of technology and film will be on display.

Started as a music showcase, SXSW's interactive and movie portions have become equal partners in defining the festival (not to mention, in some small part, Austin itself).

Last year's festival prompted us to consider the precarious junction where music and geekery meet. This year, it's got us taking a look at those moments when technology hits the big screen.

Some of our favorite movie character throughout the year have been hackers, coders, gadget freaks and gamers. So, meet our Top 10 Movie Techies of All Time.

The Rutgers Screw Job: Big East Tournament 2011

Getting screwed by the referee. I almost always blame the referee when United loses a game they don't deserve to lose. But this one... I didn't watch the game but this video was trending on YouTube. They had 1.3 seconds left and all of the referees ignored the out of bounds that would give Rutgers one last chance of winning (or tie) the game.

One thing I can't stand: when a video trends on YouTube, the number of trolls/spams is unbelievable.

I hate rain.

I've said it quite a few times, but I really do. I do love the smell of fresh air when it had just stopped raining. But I hate rain. I don't mind it as much if it's just there minding its own business and not affecting me in any way – but the gloomy sky makes me want to just stay in bed all day, hugging my pillow and covering myself with my blanket. Thank God it wasn't too windy, or else I would definitely stay in my room, ignoring the fact that I haven't had a decent meal since yesterday afternoon. Especially after the game this morning...

That game this morning... *right-click. move to trash. right-click. empty trash.*

Let's just say I was having a bad day. I was having a bad week. Two weeks, actually. The rain didn't help. I hate rain.

iPad 2

Apple announced it yesterday and pegged 2011 as "The Year of iPad 2."
It uses the dual-core A5 chip, making it twice faster than the first iPad. It's redesigned and is 33% thinner and 15% lighter. As expected, it has two cameras, enables FaceTime and HD video recording, plus Photo Booth, something that I'm quite excited about.

Another thing that I think is pretty cool: the smart cover. It looks nice, uses magnet to snap it into place and covers the screen and only the screen (I hate it when something covers the beauty of Apple products), can be used as a stand, and keeps it clean. The iPad also automatically goes to sleep when the cover is on and wakes up when cover is opened. I just think it's brilliant.

Ryan Giggs' 20th anniversary

Ryan Giggs has just passed his 20th anniversary since debuting at Manchester United.
[The jerseys throughout the years]
Twenty years ago, on 2 March 1991, a budding United youngster named Ryan Giggs made his Old Trafford entrance. Now, he's the club's most decorated servant and recently put pen to paper on a new deal, ensuring he'll remain a Red until at least next summer. But for Giggs, now 37, his first-team debut remains all a bit of a blur.

Waiting for Sherlock 2...

RDJ and Jude Law presented together at this past weekend's Oscars, and they might just be the best part of the night! They were hilarious and it just reminds me why I loved Sherlock Holmes so much: their chemistry. Plus, RDJ got his short haircut back and I'm loving it!
