Why Expos is so hard

  1. We actually have to read lots of essays, 20+ pages each!
  2. Writing 5 pages essay is NEVER easy.
  3. It's so hard to find connections between the readings (which might be because I find it hard to read them properly in the first place. I don't understand most of them)
  4. The assignment question is never what I expected. When I read the latest reading, I would try to find connections to the previous readings. But what I thought would be the assignment question is always way off the real ones.
  5. My instructor doesn't help us understand the text or find connections etc.
  6. I have to work on my laptop to write a paper. My laptop is connected to the internet. Go figure!
  7. And it requires us to be critical and be able to explain obvious things. I just can't do that!

David Beckham!!! [^.^]

David Beckham visited his former team Manchester United training in Milan. United are preparing for the Champions League battle with Jose Mourinho's men, Inter Milan, which is Beckham's current team's city rival [that was a baaaad sentence lol]

Beckham met former teammates, including Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, 2 of the 3 survivors from the class of '92. Gary Neville was left in Manchester due to injury.
Becks belong to Manchester United!! He should really, really spend his last few months of his career back at Old Trafford. Imagine that midfield, with Scholes, Giggs, and Becks, added with the pace of Cristiano Ronaldo ;)

And I just LOVE the way he dresses! Looking real good Becks! :)

Interview from United's website. Again, he's showing his love for United. Come on Fergie! Bring him back just for a couple months!!

The 81st Annual Academy Awards

This year's Oscars were presented just moments ago, and as expected, Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner. They got 8 out of 10 nominations if I'm not mistaken. I should watch this movie and see actually how good it is. Usually Oscar nominated movies are those long, boring, too many words type of movie. But I watched Benjamin Button and it was pretty good (I guess Brad Pitt being there helps A LOT).

Slumdog brought as many of their cast to the show. They brought some of the kids too. They actually went to the red carpet and interviewed by Ryan Seacrest. Some of them don't even speak English! They're soooo adorable!! Some of them aren't even actors, they're actual kids from the slums, having the time of their lives! Looking nice in dresses and tux.

Another expected win, Heath Ledger with the post-humous Oscar. His family came up to accept the award.

I like the way they presented the actor/actress awards, five past winners introduce the current nominees. There are some of them that I just don't know but some of them were funny (thank God!). Hugh Jackman was pretty good as host. Sang, danced, quite funny too!

The Oscars were 3 1/2 - 4 hours long and boring, most of the time, so anyone who comes up with a joke was soooo entertaining for me.

[I don't really know what I'm writing anymore, I guess I'm tired]

Was a little disappointed that Jessica Biel failed to bring Justin to the show! Slim chance, I know, he's not the kind of guy who'd show up as a girl's date to these award shows but I miss seeing him in a nice tux...

ScholarshipPoints

I joined ScholarshipPoints.com a few months ago because, of course, we're all in a very tough economy condition and any aid for college tuition is a huge help for me and my family.

Scholarship Points is a website that gives away free (yes, free) scholarship each month with the minimum amount of $1,000. As the name of the site, we have to earn our points to be able to put our name up for each month's draw. Earning points is easy, just reading their blog, which itself is very helpful, will give you points. They also have surveys and weekly challenge that give you extra points. The winner is drawn by the end of each month. There are also other extra scholarships awarded so be sure to check their website often.

For those of you who haven't joined, click here and fill out the form! Everything is free and it only takes a few minutes, so you don't really have anything to lose.

After you sign up, check the "Earn Points" section and well, start earning your points! After you're done go to the "Enter Scholarship" section and use your points there. Be sure to note the drawing date, and check the website then because you might win. Actually, check the website everyday so you get daily login points.

Then, write about this on your blog so you can get 100 points right away! Click here for more details.

Manchester United 3-0 Fulham

A couple of days late but Paul Scholes scored one of his trademark (even though Fulham's GK should have saved it) at the 12th minute. The game opens up after that and United was dominating the match. Dimitar Berbatov scored an easy tap in, with Scholes' vision proved to be the best in the game. He released O'Shea into the box who stretched and just got the ball across the goal, met by Berba easily. Wayne Rooney is back from his hamstring injury and was given a run out around the 60th minute. 2 minutes later, his first touch turns into United's third goal.

United is now top of the table, 5 points clear off second placed Liverpool, with 13 matches to go this season. Come on United! Let's get that hattrick (and the 4 other trophies) that we deserve!

Something's wrong with my MacBook...

I have no idea what happened but like a few days ago it just started to happen. Some parts of a window, which used to be gray, turns white. It's just some parts of an application window. It also happens on Facebook; when we have comments on stuff they usually have a small box with a different color under the thing we're commenting. But now it's just white so it blends in with the background. It also happens to other parts of Faceboook too. Some pics of whatever that is:

That's my Microsoft Word window toolbar. See the background of the part with "New" on it and the "Final Showing Markup" below it has different colors, but it used to be the same. It used to be the color of the bottom part, now it's just lighter for some reason...

Rows 1, 3, and 5 of my System Preferences window suddenly became white, even though it was greyish before.

And apparently this is happening to all Preferences windows of my applications:

[Adium, Firefox, Word]

Toolbox (or whatever that's called) nya Facebook biasanya beda warna skr jd putih nge blend sm page background nya...

I have no idea what happened, and I don't know how to fix this... Please help!!!!

GQ's Most Stylish Man

Justin earned top spot on GQ's "10 Most Stylish Men" list.
An article on GQ's site, and there's also a slideshow too! J looks so hot in the pics there. The article is also a good read.

The man who helped bring fedoras—and sweater vests, and beards, and three-piece suits, and skinny ties—back

I'm so proud of you, J! I always knew you dress well but GQ is a pretty big honor isn't it? :) <3

Something from somewhere else, just a little bit from the article.
Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy - and style - back.
The singer-songwriter known for his fedoras, three-piece suits and unorthodox fashion mixes tops a list of the 10 most stylish men in America by men’s magazine GQ.
“He’s the guy we end up dressing like a year after he’s adopted the look,” the magazine says.
The 28-year-old Grammy winner heads his own clothing line, William Rast, producing items like skinny jeans, vests and graphic T-shirts.
“The kind of clothes Timberlake himself would wear,” according to the GQ article.
Timberlake tells the mag he got his sense of style from his stepfather, Paul Harless, a banker who laid out his suit for the next morning every night and went to work looking “like Richard Gere in ‘[American] Gigolo.’”
“I was like, I want to dress like that! He was just so cool,” Timberlake says.
The suits-with-sneakers look Timberlake made famous on tour is a nod to practicality.
“I just put sneakers on because I couldn’t dance in the shoes I had,” he explains. “I couldn’t leap with just insoles and dress shoes. I would’ve hurt myself.”
Even if his sweater vests and skinny ties aren’t your idea of fashion, GQ has crowned Timberlake a trendsetter.

Ryan Giggs Signs New Contract

The Welsh Wizard is officially staying at Manchester United until summer 2010, just a couple months before he turns 37. Even though Giggs hasn't been playing as much as he did in previous seasons, for a 35 year old still playing at the best club in the world is fantastic. He has the experience of a 35 year old but the pace of a 25! He might not be able to play every single match for United but whenever the boss needs him he shows why we're keeping him until he just can't play anymore.

me <3 Ryan! :) Glad you're staying another year with us. Hopefully you'll stay until you're 40 or something.

Rihanna and Chris Brown

So I've never been the biggest fan of Chris Brown. Yeah he got some good songs but that was it. But if the reports were true, then that's it!

Hope you recover well, Rihanna. I actually like you...

Edwin breaks British Record

Congratulations to Edwin van der Sar who has kept 13 consecutive clean sheets, making him the new holder of most minutes without conceding a goal in British league football.

The previous record was held by Aberdeen goalkeeper Bobby Clark who managed to prevent himself collecting the ball from his own goal for 1,155 minutes in the 1970/71 season. Van der Sar beat that record managing 1,212 minutes without conceding.

LOLz!

This is my 7 year old son who had an extra tooth removed last summer, 2008. I had the camera because he was so nervous before I wanted him to see before and after.

He was so out of it after, I had to carry him out of the office. The staff was laughing and I had tears it was so funny.

He is doing fine now and the teeth are great.

He's just so cute! Poor kid..

Heroes - Season 4

Season 4 of Heroes premiered today and I've just finished watching it. As most shows, it has never been as good as the first season and I'm really hoping that this season would actually mean something. Cos season 3 was just so flat. Never really peaked and there wasn't really a good story line and it just ended. This season could be interesting, judging from the first episode.

So pretty much the "heroes" are trying to live a normal life. Everyone is back to his/her old job and try to not use their powers. Try to keep themselves under the radar - except for Nathan who's always on the news. Apparently he and his mom are planning to gather all the people with abilities and take them somewhere. Nathan tried to keep Claire and Peter out of it but they got caught, too. Pretty much they got some guys (including Hiro, Mohinder, and the girl with multiple personalities whose name I can't remember right now) and flew them out in like an army plane. In the end Peter had a little accident with his power that made the plane crash. Gotta wait til next week to see how it goes...
