Here we go again...

Finally finished unpacking!! I'm so freaking tired!! I'm still jet-lagged. Been sleeping at 9pm and waking up at 4am these past few days. It's now almost 11 and I just can't stay awake anymore...

Classes start in 2 days. I really, really hope I'd do better this semester! Still need to add and drop a couple classes. Moga2 tambah rajin ae lah pokoke... N moga2 g terlalu susah kelas2e heheh...

Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal

I was pretty nervous about this game because, let's be honest, we haven't performed up to par this season, and Arsenal has been scoring goals easily. Sir Alex Ferguson opted to pack the midfield, leaving Wayne Rooney up front all by himself.

Lagi capek jd males ngetik... full report can be found here. Hehehe...

[Rooney equalized from the penalty spot]

[Man of the match Darren Fletcher]
Line up: Foster; O'Shea, Vidic, Brown, Evra; Valencia (Park), Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs (Berbatov 85'), Nani; Rooney.

AK on JF

Just watched Ashton Kutcher interview on LNWJF here. Man they're hilarious together! They like the same stuff and they were so freaking funny when talking about Twitter and all those old school games! (catching up on my shows so I won't fall asleep)

Edwin named top stopper

Edwin van der Sar was named UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year following his Champions League exploits last season, and Sir Alex Ferguson described the Dutchman's dedication to remaining at the top of the game as "absolutely unbelievable."

The veteran stopper, who kept seven clean sheets in Europe last term, fought off competition from Chelsea's Petr Cech and Barcelona's Victor Valdes to scoop the goalkeeper gong. He was presented with his award in Monaco prior to the draw for this season's group stages.

"The award couldn't have gone to a better professional," Sir Alex told ManUtd.com. "Edwin's dedication to football in the last few years has been absolutely unbelievable.

"It's an award that is thoroughly deserved and I think everyone in football will applaud that."

Meanwhile, Nemanja Vidic lost out to John Terry in the UEFA Club Defender of the Year category, while Lionel Messi pipped former Red Cristiano Ronaldo in the UEFA Club Forward of the Year nominations.

Congrats Edwin! Very well deserved! Hope you'd be back soon...

Come on United... B-E-L-I-E-V-E

I'm finally here!

After about a whole day in planes and airports I'm finally back in the States! To be honest, flying biz class was amazing! The seat actually reclines, they give you real food, when you call for assistance they RUN!, all the special treatments that you get... and I just LOVE the lounges!

Took a shower at Silver Kris lounge in Singapore. It was a really nice shower! The food was great and the place was really nice. The restroom was huge and comfy and I just loved it! Probably the only time I'm gonna be in there so I tried to enjoy it as much as I could.

In Frankfurt, the lounge wasn't as nice as the one in Singapore but it was really nice for a 2-hours transit. The bathroom provides these little amenities by H2O and I took one of each cos they're blue! LOL I think I got a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, shower gel, body lotion, face wash and moisturizer. I don't know if I'm gonna ever use them but they're nice-colored!!

The flights themselves were pretty good. The seat was nice and I could actually sleep well. Slept from Singapore all the way to Frankfurt, only woke up for food and I only watched 2 movies: Monsters vs. Aliens and Coraline. But I couldn't sleep Frankfurt-JFK maybe because I've slept too much. First meal SIN-Frankfurt, I got rib eye steak. It was amazing. Unfortunately I was already full by the time I got it so I only ate 1/3... Last meal I got was roast chicken breast and it was really good, too! And I love the garlic bread that they have.

Enjoyed business class so much, I don't know how I'm gonna feel flying coach next time =p

Moving in to my dorm on Sunday. Better rest up and shake off the jet lag...

Half a day in SG

This would probably be the first and last time I fly business so I'm gonna enjoy it as much as possible. I felt kinda out of place though cos everyone around me actually looked like businessmen...

Di Juanda masuk ke lounge nya. I think that was the first time ever. Biasa aja sih. Penuh jd puter2 dulu cari tempat duduk. Abis gitu naruh barang2, liat kanan kiri ada org mencurigakan yang keliatan bakal nyuri barang2ku ga, trus jalan2 liat makanan... Ga ada yang menarik blas! Akirnya cm ngambil minum mumpung lg haus. Cuma bentar di lounge nya, kira2 15-20mnt kemudian dah boarding soalnya. Aneh banget wkt liat boarding pass seat nya 1A. Duduk depan dw gitu. Sblhku bapak2 Chinese gitu jas2an...

Got to Changi at around 1pm local time. As always, I love this place! Even though it's just an airport, I could stay here all day and enjoy myself (I'm actually loving the fast internet right now lol). Looked around the place a little bit, then tried to find my way to the SQ lounge. It's a pretty big airport and I went the wrong way first so I had to go to the other side... When I got there, they told me that I might want to go to their lounge at terminal 3 (where I'm gonna be boarding later) so I did. Took me a while to go there. It was really cool though. The food looked really good. But I just had my food on the plane so I didn't take anything. They have a shower in the bathroom that I might try later (kringeten ga karuan td jln2 di Orchard). Will be there for a couple hours after this.

Abis nitipin barang2, naek MRT ke Orchard. Pertama lgs kliatan mall baru tuh Ion. Bagus tempatnya... Ada toko (I think it was UNIQLO) jual blazer lmyn bagus harganya SGD70. CAPEK BANGEEET! Dah gitu di luar panas e g karuan g ngapa2in ae kringeten. Dinner di MOS Burger, kuputuskan balek k Changi. I spent like USD70+ on CDs! lol

Gonna find my way to where I left my baggage and then back to the lounge. Liat2 deh klo mendukung mo mandi dulu n noto2 barang blanjaan ini mskin koper... Hopefully I'd enjoy my flight to JFK since I'm gonna get a pretty good seat.

I guess this is it for now...

Bener2 ga kerasa, 3 bulan udah terlewat. I really don't want to sleep and wake up to my flight to Singapore... Ga mau harus ninggalin rumah, Surabaya, Indonesia tercinta. Dah gitu ga tau taon depan bakal balik ga. It's unsure when am I gonna be able to meet my family and friends again.

But on the other hand, I want to just stay awake as long as I can so this night would feel longer.

And I'm kinda scared cos this next year would be pretty different for me. I'm gonna be living on College Ave, which would be totally different from Busch and Livingston. I'm gonna have a new roommate, and I don't really know anyone living in CAC... Hopefully I'll be fine.

Top Five High-Paying Bachelor's Degrees
Heading back to school to increase your earning potential, but not sure which degree will fit the bill? Just a bit of digging can help you find out which undergrad degrees not only fit the bill, but pay the bills, too. While graduate degrees are growing more and more common, earning the big bucks with a bachelor's degree is still possible, especially if you are highly skilled in technology or economics. Engineering, analytical, and math-related jobs will offer the highest salaries throughout your career, particularly with demand for these jobs increasing faster than the number of available graduates. If you're hoping for a career that will show you the money, consider job training in one of these top-earning degrees from the Payscale College Salary Report:

Environmental engineering

Median starting salary: $53,400
Median mid-career salary: $94,500

Computer science

If you love computers, complex problem-solving, and discovering new technologies, a career in computer science might be for you. A bachelor's degree in computer science will prepare you for work as an inventor or researcher in a corporate or university setting. Because the computer field changes continually with every technological breakthrough, you should be excited about learning new things throughout your career and today's knowledge will become obsolete quickly. Given the increasing complexity and sophistication of computer technologies and a limited number of workers with the appropriate skills, the BLS reports that job growth for computer scientists will be among the fastest growing in the United States through 2016, at an incredible 37 percent.
Median starting salary: $56,400
Median mid-career salary: $97,400

Economics

Median starting salary: $50,200
Median mid-career salary: $101,000

Finance

Median starting salary: $48,500
Median mid-career salary: $89,400

Marketing

Median starting salary: $41,500
Median mid-career salary: $81,500

House Season 6 Spoilers

There are some good spoilers for next season of House. I bet it's gonna be an interesting season with House in the mental hospital and all...

Question: "...some awesome House spoiler!? — Mandi"
Ausiello: "A member of the team gets fired in the first three episodes!"
Question: "Is it true that House moves in with Wilson after he returns from the asylum? — Joe"
Ausiello: "It¹s true. That¹s one of two major life changes the ornery doc makes early in the season. What¹s the other one, you ask? Cooking lessons!"
Question: "I¹m so happy Cameron and Chase are getting their old jobs back on House. Got any more scoop about them?? — Sabrina"
Ausiello: "Their first significant fight as a married couple will take place in episode 4. And it¹s not going to be pretty."
Question: "In your column last week you mentioned that someone on House¹s team gets fired. Do you mean House¹s fellowship team? Or the general team, which would include Wilson and Cuddy? — Alisha"
Ausiello: "The fellowship team."
Question: "Is the character who gets fired on House leaving the show? — Sam"
Ausiello: "No."

Taken from this website that takes them from Ask Ausiello.

My guess is that Foreman is the one who gets fired but only so he could be the head of the team (since he's the most 'experienced'). That's why they take Chase and Cameron back into the team because having only Thirteen and Taub with Foreman as lead won't be anywhere near as good as House's team. I would hope that Foreman won't be the one being chosen but it would seem pretty likely...

He goes by the name of Wayne Rooney!

[Rooney reaching the century mark]

Wayne Rooney, at the young age of 22, has scored his 100th (and 101st) goal for Manchester United against Wigan, yesterday.

Congrats, Roo! He's young and still developing, but already showing such a high level of performance. And with his dedication to the club it seems like he still has lots of years ahead of him to add to that tally.

Wayne Rooney becomes the 20th player to have scored 100 or more goals for United. Here's how the 22-year-old reached his century...

2004/05: 43 appearances, 17 goals
2005/06: 48 appearances, 19 goals
2006/07: 55 appearances, 23 goals
2007/08: 43 appearances, 18 goals
2008/09: 49 appearances, 20 goals
2009/10: 4 appearances, 4 goals

Total: 242 appearances, 101 goals
source

Wigan Athletic 0-5 Manchester United

Manchester United bounced back after their midweek shocking loss to Burnley to a dominating second half performance at Wigan.

[Nani and Evra helped Rooney celebrate his first goal of the night]

Sir Alex Ferguson made seven changes to the side that lost to Burnley a few days earlier. Gary Neville and Nemanja Vidic get their first starts of the season. The manager shuffled the midfield, playing Nani, Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher and former Wigan player Antonio Valencia. Dimitar Berbatov replaces Michael Owen as Wayne Rooney's partner up front.

The first half ended goalless, with both teams having chances. Ben Foster made a couple brilliant saves to keep United level, while the offense fails to capitalize their chances. United might have more possession and more chances but those didn't count after 45 minutes.

Valencia started the game with respectful applause from the Lattics supporters. In the 56th minute, however, the cheers came from the traveling supporters instead. His cross from the right wing was met by Rooney who heads it home to the top corner.

[Rooney heads his 100th United goal]

After the restart, Foster had to make another great save to keep United ahead. The next minute, United's lead was doubled. A nice exchange between Berbatov, Rooney and Scholes proved too much for the home's defense as Berbatov was put through on goal by Scholes' lob. Dimi then lobbed the ball over goalkeeper Chris Kirkland and finished it to the empty net.

Rooney seemed to seal the match with his second - and United's third - goal. He picked up the ball from the left, cut inside, and his shot was deflected in by Mario Melchiot.

[Owen scoring his first goal for United, with many more to come in the future]
Five minutes from time, the traveling supporters had more to cheer for when Owen scored his first goal for United in an official match. Nani picked Owen up with a very nice pass, and Owen's left-footed strike hit Kirkland's far post in.

Last minute of injury time, Nani curled a freekick over the wall and into the back of the net as Kirkland watches helplessly.

With the Arsenal game coming up next week, a nice display like this is needed by the fans for assurance of the team's capability; especially after the last performance the team gave. Sir Alex was pleased having all of his three strikers scoring goals and the substitute goalkeeper showing nice reflexes to keep the clean sheet.

Rio out for a month!

It was bad enough to lose to a newly promoted team (its city's entire population could fit in Old Trafford, still with extra seats), defender Rio Ferdinand is reported to be out for up to a month!

Ferdinand has a minor thigh muscle tear, and manager Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful that the experienced defender would be fit in three weeks or less. Luckily, his partner Nemanja Vidic is now fit to play this Saturday against Wigan. Vidic is likely to start alongside youngster Johnny Evans in the middle of defense on Saturday's game.

From the pre season games until the first two league games of this season, Manchester United's defense had looked shaky at best. With the return of Vidic, we're hoping for a more solid performance at the back.

Nigels 11 news!!

[credit: kirkpatrick.nu]

Well not really Nigels news but there is an article about them. Here are the scans for Chris' section.

They've been working on the album for some time now and I'm almost absolutely sure that it's ready. They were doing packaging and stuff and they did the photo shoot so it shouldn't be too long now that the album is released. Can't wait!! The songs I've heard so far have been pretty good. Their website is still under construction but it has snippets of some of their songs. Guess it would be up and running by the time they have to promote their album.

They're also trying to get www.nsync.com to go back up so the *NSYNC fans would know about their project. How am I supposed to move on from the boybands and my obsession of *NSYNC if they do this?!

Justin!!!

J is going to be in Sony's sports themed commercial opposite Peyton Manning. Can't wait to see it, bet it's hilarious!

There's an article about it here (again from WoJ).

Dear God #4

A lot of times You've sent me reminders so I would not sin. But even when I feel like there's the signs, most of those times I would ignore You and do it anyway. I'm sorry, I'm still learning.

Aku n Elsa memutuskan ga tidur sampe mrk bangun soalnya ranjang cm 2 orangnya 4. Skitar jam 4 gitu dah lumayan capek n ngantuk n ga tau mo ngapain. Akirnya qta putuskan maen kartu aja sampe jam stengah 6 trus bangunin adik2nya trus qta gantian dpt ranjang. Di luar udah terang n mulai rame, akirnya qta tdr. Jam 11 lbh gitu udah bangun. Jadi aku 2 hari tidur lbh sedikit drpd aku biasa tdr tiap harinya! Tapi berhubung itu lg kumpul2 ma sodara2 jd ga capek or ngantuk.

Di rumahnya Elsa sampe jam 12an, koko jmput trus pulang. Sampe di rumah baru krasa, klo ternyata aku ni capek banget! Begitu cuci kaki, cuci tangan, ganti baju, begitu naek ranjang langsung pingin tidur... Akirnya tadi malem tidur 10 jam!! Hahaha..

Abis gini cari sleeve, mouse n cooling pad nya (see if it actually does something!)...

HawthoRNe

So I decided to watch Michael Vartan's new TV show on TNT, HawthoRNe. (actually it's more like Jada Pinkett-Smith's show, she has the central role).

I have all 9 episodes that have aired so far. The tenth episode, the season finale, will air next Tuesday so I would have to wait until then. The show revolves around Jada's character, nurse Cristina Hawthorne, who is the head nurse. Vartan plays the Chief of Surgery, Dr. Tom Wakefield. The season starts on the one year anniversary of the passing of Hawthorne's husband. He was a patient of Dr. Wakefield, who is the couple's friend.

With all the medical dramas on TV these days, HawthoRNe needs to be different and catchy. So far, they fail to do that. They already have shows that focuses on a strong, female nurse. And they sure don't give you the "I can't wait for next week's episode" thing. It's not the best show, but it's not that bad either. Of course, Michael Vartan in a tux always helps.
[Dr. Wakefield, 1.07]

HawthoRNe was just given a chance for a second season. I'm still not sure when that's gonna air. I just hope that the season finale would get my attention more and give us an interesting plot. They should give Vartan more screen time. I think Tom and Cristina might have something going on between them. Even though that would almost certainly give Tom a more central role, I hope they would wait for it to happen. Throwing that too soon might ruin the show.

My favorite episode so far is 1.07, because that's when Michael wears the tux (in picture) and he speaks French a little bit (he tells us a 'secret' which is about him being born in France and his father still lives there; which is true about Michael himself).

I really don't want September to come!

Dear God #3

Maybe I need to be smacked in the head sometimes just to remind me that I'm never really alone.

"We'll find each other. We always find each other."

I've been watching Alias from the first season since about 2 weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:

Season 1 was good, cos that's how it all started. I love the fact that Sydney had life outside of SD-6 or the CIA or whoever she was working for. Will and Francie were on the show quite a bit and I loved it. I also really liked the secret meetings between Sydney and Vaughn. When Will, Francie and Vaughn are around Sydney, at least there are moments where you can see her having fun. Once they're not there anymore, Syd always looks so depressed.

I love season 2 because Syd/Vaughn started their relationship. He's just so adorable! Hated the evil Francie (or whoever her name was) and that they put Will in witness protection program and Syd lost her two best friends.

Didn't like season 3 because Vaughn got married. I mean they've known each other for two years and they just started dating by the end of those two years. Syd was supposedly dead for two years and Vaughn was already married to that b*tch! (well I can't really blame her for hating Sydney but still!!)

Season 4 - I think during the shooting Michael Vartan and Jennifer Garner just broke up, and you can actually see the awkwardness of their relationship on screen. The storyline started to get boring...

Season 5, hating it so far! I'm currently watching the 4th episode and I don't understand why they're rushing everything but cut the season short. Everything seems to be in fast forward. Too much happen so fast that they don't seem significant.
It's like they're doing this all over again. The new girl is the new Sydney, worked for a terrorist organization saying they were actually CIA. The new bad guy has a female agent that goes up against her. The organization has 12 cells or whatever, like the Alliance in the first season.
At the end of season 4 they made it seem like Michael Vaughn is a double agent. Then they showed that he's actually not. And they killed him off!! In the first episode! I guess that's why I've never really watched season 5, I just skimmed through it, until they brought Vaughn back.
They also let go of Eric Weiss, kept Nadia Santos in a coma, had Arvin Sloane in jail and Irina Derevko is still gone. It's their last season and they got new people and got rid of so many of their regulars. After watching it for 4 years, you feel like you actually know these people you watch every week, and they replaced them with these new people that we don't really care about?! They even got new people as their enemies! Where the hell did Julian Sark go? We loved him!!

The Sloane/Irina evil turns good turns evil again got boring by this time.

I think I'm complaining too much. Yet, I'm still watching every single minute of every single episode. Gonna watch HawthoRNe soon. Hopefully MV will get more screen time on that show (cos I didn't get enough MV on the first episode). Syd/Vaughn are definitely one of my fave TV couple.

Kuliah semakin mendekat... =.=!

Biasanya kalo aku lagi deg2an menghadapi something gitu malemnya ga bisa tidur kepikiran, what if things go horribly wrong. Tapi ini balek US masih 3 minggu lagi koq udah mulai kepikiran sekarang? Jadi tidur ga tenang, masa udah mulai mimpi2 masuk kuliah, n slalu ga enak isi mimpinya. Jelas2 aku ga punya buku n ga ngerti apa2.

Trus besoknya mimpi lagi. Eh aku ternyata salah register kelas smua. Kaco banget deh pokoknya. Sampe aku datengin advisorku, dia bilang ga bisa, aku hrs mundur 1 taon lulusnya soalnya telat ngambil kelas2 prereq nya yg harusnya taambil taon ini. WEW!!

I really need something new to watch, cos I've been watching Alias again, all 5 seasons. I'm almost done with the 4th now and I still think Michael Vartan is so damn hot! =p

VDS out for 8 weeks :(

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar might be out for up to 8 weeks after a finger surgery. Van der Sar suffered a broken bone on his left hand during United's last match against Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup.

Van der Sar will miss the last preseason match against Valencia, the Community Shield against Chelsea and the first few games of next season's Premier League. Sir Alex Ferguson will have to trust either Ben Foster or Tomasz Kuszczak to tend United's goal during this period.
