Bolton Wanderers 0-4 Manchester United

Leading up to this game, the other two title contenders, Arsenal and Chelsea, had their chance to state their case. While Arsenal dropped two points away at Birmingham City, Chelsea demolished the visiting Aston Villa 7-1. I have to say, I was quite nervous. Bolton has never been an easy opponent, and with Chelsea's win, United can't afford to drop any points.

Top scorer Wayne Rooney and England captain Rio Ferdinand were not included in the line-up at all, causing some worries among the United supporters. The start of the game was nerve-wrecking for United fans, as United were unable to pick up the pace. However, after 10 minutes into it, the midfield started to click in and veterans Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes ran the show. Their passes throughout the game were unbelievable!

United reclaimed pole position in powerful style on Saturday evening, routing Bolton at the Reebok in response to Chelsea’s earlier slaughter of Aston Villa.
After a Jloyd Samuel own goal gifted the Reds a half-time lead, Dimitar Berbatov made certain of three big points with his first league brace for United. Darron Gibson then added a late fourth goal after coming on as a substitute.

That was United's 11th time taking advantage of an own goal in this season's Premier League, the most out of other teams.

This is the first time Dimitar Berbatov scored two goals in a Premier League match for United. I was a little bit skeptical having Berbatov up front by himself, since he tends to drop deep and pick up the ball. He certainly had a wonderful game today. He worked hard and went into nice positions and made himself available. Good job, Berba!
