50 years ago today...

Can't believe it's been 50 years since Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson breaks into the professional football scene. (my parents weren't even born yet at the time!)

On November 15, 1958, a 16-year-old boy named Alex Ferguson made his debut at professional football for Queens Park FC. The young striker didn't have a good game, and the match ended in a loss.

After a successful managerial career at Aberdeen, Ferguson was appointed manager of Manchester United Foorball Club in 1986. 21 years later, he is now the longest serving manager in modern football, covered with all the glorious trophies he had won with the team.

A good article on the 50 years of Sir Alex's career.

At age 66, Sir Alex Ferguson had stated several times that he will not be a manager when he hits 70. After building his latest winning team filled with young talents and older experiences, it looks like he will end on a high.
