Soccer Aid 2010

The third Soccer Aid was held yesterday at Old Trafford. England has won the previous two matches. I just got excited because one it's Old Trafford, and second Ryan Giggs was supposed to start alongside Zinedine Zidane. I didn't get to watch the match, obviously, but I'm still hoping to be able to watch some highlights.

Report from ManUtd.com:

Woody Harrelson ensured a first Soccer Aid victory for the Rest of the World against England after an enthralling encounter at Old Trafford.

It was left to a penalty shoot-out to decide the winner of the trophy following a 2-2 draw in normal time.

Jamie Redknapp put England ahead on the stroke of half-time after some lovely link-up play with Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer.

Sheringham doubled the advantage on the hour-mark, before the ROW, who had Ryan Giggs in their squad, pulled one back through Joe Calzaghe soon after.

Former Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia netted an equaliser when he rose to meet a corner 12 minutes from time.

A hugely exciting shoot-out between the celebrities followed with the ROW eventually winning 7-6.
