Givenchy Play for Her

[The new poster for Play for her]
Not so long ago Givenchy released the scent Play, a playful scent for men that was represented by Justin Timberlake. We loved the MP3 styling of the bottle and the earthy scent, and longed for a female scent of our own. Our wishes have been granted, as Givenchy has just released news of their brand new perfume for women, entitled RWD Play FFWD for Her.

There are going to be two versions of this scent, The Eau de Parfum (which comes in the light pink bottle pictured above) and the Eau de parfum Intense (which has a deeper violet bottle).

The scent uses a couple of original notes to create a sparkling concoction that is both creamy and sensual. Amyris wood  creates a musky base with heady top notes of white peach and pink peppercorns. The Eau de Parfum is a light scent that feels very young in its approach as the combination of sweet pea with a sandalwood base provides a very uplifting scent. I was drawn to the middle notes of the Tiare flower which let the scent settle on the skin, and it felt really lighthearted and fresh.

The Eau de Parfum Intense has to be my favorite however, even with the description that it ‘might appeal to the older woman’ (eep!). It’s a lovely warm fragrance which lacks the initial lightness of the original yet provides an overall smokier base with a deeper selection of middle notes. The Tiare Flower is still present, but here it mingles with Orchid and Orange Flower for a more succulent scent that lingers on the skin in delicious olfactory waves.

It will be available from August 2010 on all good counters, with an estimated retail price of £34.50 for 30ml and £49 for the 50ml.
