30ninjas.com: The Top “Hey! Well Excuuuuuuse Me Princess!” Movies

She’s the stuck up princess born with both a silver spoon and silver tongue in her mouth. He’s the charming rapscallion from the wrong side of the tracks trying to make a name for himself in a world that has already counted him out. Together, they make up the charming “they hate each other too much to not fall in love” duo that proves that the strongest love can only spring forth from the strongest hate. It’s a built in love story, it’s built in character development, and it’s built in snappy, snarky dialogue that will have you wondering why they don’t just get a room already.

In the same way that your nemesis can only be someone that you respect, so too must these characters overcome their mutual loathing to find common ground. It is this journey that we will embark on, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to venture into the land of razor sharp quips and torrid love affairs.

Firefly

Inara and Mal have the kind of strained relationship that leads to obsessive fans flipping out when the “characters” finally consummate their relationship. The Inara/Mal relationship can be almost perfectly encapsulated in this one quote from the episode Shindig:
Inara: You have a strange sense of nobility, Captain. You’ll lay a man out for implying I’m a whore, but you keep calling me one to my face.

Mal: I might not show respect for your job, but he didn’t respect you. That’s the difference. Inara, he doesn’t even see you.

Inara: Well, I guess death will solve the issue to everyone’s satisfaction.
I think that a big reason that fans are so up in arms about the premature canceling of this show is that we never got to see any sort of payoff in their relationship. Would it have been too much to have shown a passionate smooch?
