Bring S60 back!!

Well you know.. this is what happen when I get so into something. Studio 60 was pure genius and Matty and Bradley would have got Emmys (or at least nominations) if only the show was picked up for a second season. Instead of watching dumb talentless people on reality shows, we should bring Studio 60 back, a show that actually makes us think.

It's a smart show, which is actually why not that many people watch it. It was on after Heroes. Wrong time slot NBC! The viewers for those shows are very different. S60 was actually the most digitally recorded show so the ratings were actually better than reported. It wasn't a failure; NBC failed it. It might suit better on HBO but any network that's up to the challenge should bring it back! [sign petition(s) below]

Oh and anyways

I just need to add something. I have always loved Matthew Perry and watching Studio 60 made me love him even more. Even when playing in a serious drama you still can see the genius behind the character. He just has the perfect comic timing. Plus, had the show went on, Matty could actually get an Emmy for his performance. If he didn't want people to know him for Chandler forever, that was it. Matthew Perry is Matt Albie now. I really believe that if NBC didn't pull the plug, an Emmy for Matty as Best Lead Actor is his to be lost. (Another reason I'm blaming NBC for whatever reason)

Also, I developed a huge crush on Matty's co-star Bradley Whitford. As Danny Tripp, he has a great chemistry with Matty. After watching interviews of him on YouTube you can see his funny side. He's very goofy, though I thought he would be a serious guy (cos he was on The West Wing and he definitely didn't have any goofy side there). Especially his Emmy win, his speech was hands down the best acceptance speech ever.

*NSYNC Flashback - November 1998

NSYNC made a number of appearances during November of 1998 including The Tonight Show, TRL and Ricki Lake, but I've decided to upload their appearance on The Howie Mandel Show for this month's Flashback because it's a nice long interview where everyone gets to talk and they do a nice performance of God Must Have Spent. Enjoy the clip!

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

I watched the whole season of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip again during Thanksgiving break and I think this show was awesome! Still don't understand why NBC would cancel it when it was actually doing well both against the critics, ratings and viewers (great demographic too). In fact, it was doing better than other NBC shows like 30 Rock and Friday Night Lights [see video below for details] but those two got picked up for a second season while S60 didn't.

The great Aaron Sorkin wrote - and created - the show. And the whole show just show what a genius he is. The language that he uses is just amazing. Just love all the dialogues, and the humor that he put in. There are a lot of inside jokes that I didn't understand the first time I watched the show so watching it the second time was actually better. I always thought that I don't like anything with too much dialogue in it but this show proved me wrong. The casting was great, too. Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, Amanda Peet, and everyone else had great chemistry.

The story itself was a little bit autobiographical to Sorkin's life. He based the main character, Matthew Albie, on himself and a little bit of Matthew Perry. Albie's relationship with Harriet Hayes was also a portrayal of Sorkin's relationship with Kristin Chenoweth. Studio 60 shows the behind-the-scene of a comedy sketch show, kinda like Saturday Night Live. It's an intense drama with the type of humor that I really enjoyed. Some people said that the show was actually canceled because it's "too smart" - shows how dumb the viewers are, really.

Great video explaining how stupid NBC was for canceling the show!! [kudos to whoever owns the vid]

I know it's pathetic but I still have a little hope that NBC - or any other network for that matter - would come to their senses and pick up the show again. I just miss seeing Matty on a weekly basis in a good show.

Ronaldo wins Ballon d'Or

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo was just named 2008 World Footballer of the Year. The award was announced earlier today, December 1, 2008. Ronaldo was definitely the favorite to receive the Ballon d'Or, with his remarkable performance last season. 42 goals in one season, as a winger too, helping his team win the Premier League and the Champions League. Lionel Messi comes in second and Fernando Torres gets third.

At age 23, Ronaldo should be able to improve even further, and he could be the best player in the world not just for a year, but for his whole career. Lets just hope he doesn't get too much into it and stay grounded and most importantly not make stupid decisions (like leaving United) that can end his career.

Manchester United is currently 3rd in the Barclay's Premier League, behind current leaders Liverpool and Chelsea, 6 and 5 points respectively but United has one game in hand.

Congrats Ron, nobody could have deserved it more than you. This season hasn't shape up to be as it was last season but you had an injury and you're still doing better than most players. Just keep your head in the game and you'll be fine...
