Next Level Escape: Ex Libris

I've somewhat started a new hobby, escape rooms, which means I'm gonna revive this blog to have a new series: escape room reviews! Warning: spoilers under "Read more" below.

I'm gonna start with the latest room I went to, which is Ex Libris from Next Level Escape.

The game

The game consists of 4 separate rooms, with a main library room. The library, obviously, leads to 3 rooms with pop-culture, literary themes. They're very enjoyable, and provide quite a nice atmosphere. I think the best part is that the clues are inconsequential, so you might get a clue, and you know it's a clue, but you might have to unlock another room before it makes any sense. You have to move from room to room and back, and it really is a lot more fun than the linear clues most escape rooms have. The Game Master was also quite good; he would give us clues in the narrative of the story (Holmes/Watson theme) in little bits throughout the game, instead of giving us a big clue when we ask for one.
