Manchester United 5-2 Tottenham Hotspurs

What a comeback! It was simply amazing. Liverpool played earlier and stole pole position from Manchester United (again, just for a few hours) only by goal difference having played 2 more games. With only 6 games left in the season, it's United's title to lose.

United were down by 2 goals at half time (goals by Darren Bent and Luca Modric). Everyone at Old Trafford knows that only 1 goal is needed to turn this game around. And it finally came in the 57th minute. Michael Carrick was through on goal when he was obstructed by Spurs' goalkeeper Gomes. Cristiano Ronaldo converted the penalty and while still trailing 1-2 the crowd was lifted. Exactly 10 minutes later, United were level with a goal by Wayne Rooney.

The comeback has begun and the team was confident. Moments later Rooney was wide on the left and was able to pick up a brilliant cross. Ronaldo met it with a diving header, sending the ball bounce in front of the goal and to the roof of the net. It's 3-2, Old Trafford is alive, and Spurs (and Merseyside) was stunned. Spurs was definitely let down by the goals and made some sloppy passes and clearances.

3 minutes later, Ronaldo repaid the favor handing Rooney a nice cross which he hit just inside the line. In the 79th minute Dimitar Berbatov's sublime touch started a move that ended with him finishing off the game.

This could be the game that decides the season.

We're through to the Semi Finals!

For the 3rd year in a row!! :) Manchester United will face Arsenal in the Champions League for an all English semi final. The first leg will be at Old Trafford on April 29th. For the second year running, there are 3 English teams in the last four of the competition.

Got pretty nervous after drawing 2-2 at home in the first leg. Porto looked really good in that match. And we haven't playing in our best form lately, lets be honest. I wasn't as confident about the team as I should have but was still rooting for them of course. Got way too nervous about the match that I couldn't study Micro. Skipped Discrete lecture to watch the match [it's not like I'm gonna learn anything by going to lectures anyway].

The game started and we looked really good. Controlling all possession, getting attacks in, and passing really well. The midfield was controlling the game, which we haven't seen in a while. And in 6 minutes, Cristiano Ronaldo shows us why all those awards are on his shelves. 40 yards out, out of nowhere, he drops his head down and drives the ball to the top right corner of the goal. Porto goalkeeper didn't get anywhere near it and the crowd--who has been taunting Ron from the start--went silent. A moment later the Manchester United fans travelling with the squad fills up the air.

United had more than 60% possession in the opening minutes. But with only 1 goal the game is still a long way from being sealed. If Porto scores, they will go through by away goals. United had to score another before getting too comfortable. Early goals are great; great starts are never bad. But with so much time left in the game the Portuguese champions can have that one lucky touch will turn everything around.

It took the home side 20 minutes to finally have an attack. But with Rio Ferdinand back in the team United's defense is more solid than it has been in a while. For the rest of the match both teams have their fair share of good chances. Edwin van der Sar had to make some very good saves. While Ryan Giggs had a great chance from a volley. Cristiano Ronaldo also had another good strike but the goalkeeper learned from his mistakes and blocked the shot low to the right. Nemanja Vidic, however, had the best chance to seal the match. The ball was whipped in by Giggs from a corner, missed a few headers and the goalkeeper was out of place. Vidic just had to tap it in but instead he stuck his leg out and the ball flew over the net. Thankfully, the miss didn't cost United too much.

Reds dominate PFA shortlists

United's domination of the domestic season so far is further underlined by the PFA's shortlists for the Player and Young Player of the Year awards.

The Barclays Premier League leaders, Carling Cup winners and FA Cup semi-finalists occupy all but one of the nominations for the PFA Players' Player of the Year. There are five Reds in the running - goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic and attacking midfielders Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo. The only opposition player on the six-strong shortlist is Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

One third of the PFA Players' Young Player of the Year nominees play for United - namely right-back Rafael and centre-back Jonny Evans. The other four contenders are Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young, Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland or Tottenham Hotspur's Aaron Lennon.

The news that so many Reds have been recognised by their fellow professionals can only boost confidence as United prepare to take on Porto in the Champions League quarter-final second leg. Hopefully most, if not all, of the seven short-listed players will be available for selection at Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday night, including Ferdinand who has missed the last three games with a groin injury.

Meanwhile, voting for United's own end-of-season awards continues. ManUtd.com's online polls for Player of the Year, Goal of the Season and Reserve Player of the Year will remain open until 30 April. The winners will be announced on 17 May.

Nice!! Good enough consolation for not playing too well lately. Wonder how Old Trafford would react if Gerrard actually wins this! Would be evn more awesome if the last 3 picked are all Red Devils! Ryan Giggs deserves this!

House

It's only been a week and I'm almost done with season 4. Just hope I can finish it soon so I can actually get some work done. Been sleeping really late cos I can't stop watching, which in turn makes me wake up even later...

It's really good. Very addicting... Well watching it while eating is not the best idea but I got hooked since the first episode. I have to say this is the first show that managed to get me hooked while hating most of the characters. Well I like House, he has his own charm. I liked his team, even though Chase and  Foreman annoys me a lot. Cameron is fine. Cuddy is funny when she's with House. Wilson...I guess House just needs a friend. But most of the times I dislike the characters they have on more than I like them.

Back to finishing season 4, studying for Physics and doing Discrete homework... and I need to check my 113 project by the end of the day... Plus I need to sleep early! (at least earlier than last night!)
